For the Xbox 360 version of WWE All Stars, the most direct PC route documented today is an unofficial static recompilation. The WWE-AllStars-Recomp project translates the game’s PowerPC code to native x86-64 ahead of time, then uses a Vulkan renderer for the game’s Direct3D 9 calls. Xenia takes a different approach: it emulates the Xbox 360 and translates code while the game runs. RPCS3 is a separate PlayStation 3 emulation route whose compatibility records depend on the exact game ID and media.
The recompilation is not a ready-made copy of the game. You must provide your own USA or Europe Xbox 360 disc image and Title Update 2 dumped from your own console; optional DLC must also come from your console. The project reports several playable modes at the original 60 frames per second, but its compatibility list is selective, its tests cover only certain hardware, and no controlled evidence proves that it is universally faster or more compatible than Xenia or RPCS3.

What the PC options actually are
There is no official Windows release of WWE All Stars in the material documented for this article. PC players instead choose between an unofficial recompilation of the Xbox 360 release and conventional console emulation. Static recompilation: code translated before launch

The project’s default Native renderer intercepts the game’s Direct3D 9 calls and draws them through Vulkan. That avoids emulating the Xbox 360 GPU instruction-for-instruction. An Emulated renderer is also available as a fallback and reference path; it is useful when the Native renderer exposes a graphics problem, but choosing it does not turn the project into a complete Xbox 360 emulator.
Xbox 360 emulation: the console is reproduced at run time
Xenia emulates the whole Xbox 360 environment and translates game code while it runs. Its official FAQ directs users to the current compatibility list for title-specific status because behavior varies by game, build, region, and configuration. That means a general statement such as “Xenia supports WWE All Stars” is not enough to predict how a particular disc image will behave.
PlayStation 3 emulation is a different release
RPCS3 emulates the PlayStation 3 version, not the Xbox 360 executable used by WWE-AllStars-Recomp. The official RPCS3 compatibility wiki records entries by game ID and game media. Disc and digital editions can have separate entries, so check the record for the exact version you own rather than assuming every copy represented by the title has identical status.

What you must provide before installing the recompilation
The project release is an engine and launcher, not a distributed game. Releases do not include the executable, disc image, update, or downloadable content. You need all of the following before the launcher can prepare a playable installation:

- A user-owned USA or Europe Xbox 360 disc image created from your own disc and console.
- Title Update 2 dumped from your own console. The project lists it as part of setup and identifies it as the game’s last update.
- Optional DLC dumped from your own console if you want content such as the Million Dollar Pack wrestlers.
- A computer or handheld that meets the project’s published operating-system, graphics, and storage requirements.
Create and use dumps in accordance with the laws that apply where you live. Do not treat a downloaded release archive as a complete copy of the game, and do not obtain disc images or updates from unauthorized sources. A retail disc by itself is not a ready-to-play PC package: it still has to be dumped, and the project also requires Title Update 2.
Published hardware and operating-system requirements
The project’s README reports the following requirements and test coverage. These are project documentation, not an independent benchmark or a guarantee for every build.

Step-by-step setup for WWE-AllStars-Recomp
- Confirm the platform first. Use a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 installation, a Vulkan-capable GPU with a current driver, roughly 8 GB of free disk space, and a controller if possible. On Steam Deck, the documented route is SteamOS with Proton; desktop Linux is not listed as tested.
- Dump the Xbox 360 disc image from your own console. Choose the USA or Europe release that matches your source media. Keep the dump unchanged so the launcher can verify it. The project does not provide a disc image.
- Dump Title Update 2 from that console. Supply the update as a separate source file. The project identifies Title Update 2 as the final game update and requires it for its DLC workflow.
- Add only DLC you own. If you have console-dumped add-on content, keep it available for the launcher. The README specifically reports the Million Dollar Pack wrestlers among its tested content.
- Download a project release from the official repository. Use the releases associated with the WWE-AllStars-Recomp project. A release archive contains the program, not the commercial game files.
- Point the launcher at your source files. The setup process copies and verifies the disc image, Title Update 2, and any selected DLC, then prepares shaders. Project documentation says the source files are read rather than modified, so keep your original dumps as a backup.
- Start with the Native renderer. It is the normal path: Direct3D 9 calls from the translated game are rendered through Vulkan. If a graphics fault appears, test the Emulated renderer, which the project retains as a fallback and reference implementation.
- Check a documented mode before exploring the rest of the game. Run a local Exhibition match, confirm controller input, enter a match, complete it, and verify the result screen. This separates a basic installation problem from a problem in a less-tested mode.
- Add DLC through the launcher. Do not copy random packages into the installation directory. The README says DLC is added through the launcher, so follow the release’s current launcher prompts for the files you dumped.
Labels and dialogs can change between releases. If a newer build presents different wording, keep the same principles: use your own source files, let the launcher verify and prepare them, and do not assume that a release archive contains the game.
What the recompilation reports as playable
The README lists specific modes and features as tested and playable. “Playable” applies to those documented checks; it does not certify every menu, match type, or online service.

The project reports the game running at its original 60 frames per second for its tested use cases. It does not publish a controlled comparison with Xenia or RPCS3. Anything not listed in the table may still crash, so a successful Exhibition match should not be treated as proof that every career, online, or creation feature works.

Source media and setup
The recompilation has explicit inputs: a USA or Europe Xbox 360 disc image, Title Update 2, and optional user-owned DLC. Xenia and RPCS3 also have game-specific setup requirements, but the documentation available here does not establish a like-for-like WWE All Stars setup procedure for those emulators. Use each project’s current setup instructions instead of transferring assumptions from the recompilation.
Compatibility records
For Xenia, consult the current compatibility list rather than relying on a title-level claim. For RPCS3, match the game ID and media type; a disc entry may not describe a digital edition. Region, revision, and emulator version can change the result. The presence of a title in a search result is not a substitute for opening its current compatibility record.

The recompilation’s 60-fps statements are project-reported results for its documented tests. No independent benchmark or named study establishes a universal performance winner. Static translation can remove some run-time emulation work, but the final result still depends on the renderer, drivers, shaders, CPU, GPU, operating system, and the particular game path being exercised.

Which route fits your situation?
You own the Xbox 360 disc and want the documented Windows path
Choose the recompilation if you can create the required disc image and Title Update 2 from your own console and your system matches, or is reasonably close to, the tested Windows or Steam Deck environments. It offers a purpose-built launcher, a Native Vulkan renderer, and an explicit list of tested modes. Its limitations are equally explicit: unsupported ranked features and store functions, selective mode coverage, and untested NVIDIA, Intel, Windows 10, and desktop-Linux configurations.
You want a conventional Xbox 360 emulator
Use Xenia’s current compatibility records for the exact game and build you intend to use. This is the appropriate comparison when you specifically want the console reproduced at run time rather than a game-specific native recompilation. The Xenia FAQ notes that Linux is not a native platform in its documented state; it may run through Wine with Vulkan, while macOS is described as incompatible under that graphics-support status.
You have the PlayStation 3 release
Check RPCS3’s compatibility wiki entry for your exact game ID and media. Do not infer that a PS3 result predicts the behavior of the Xbox 360 recompilation, or vice versa; they use different console versions and different software paths.

Do not assume any route covers the complete original feature set. The recompilation specifically marks Ranked Match, leaderboards, and the in-game store as unsupported. For other modes, verify the current project notes or emulator record before investing time in a setup.

Troubleshooting the recompilation
The launcher rejects or cannot find the game files
- Confirm that the source is a USA or Europe Xbox 360 disc image, not an unrelated region or a different release.
- Check that Title Update 2 is supplied separately and has not been renamed or altered by another tool.
- Keep DLC in the form dumped from your own console and add it through the launcher’s documented DLC workflow.
- Do not point the launcher at a downloaded “complete PC version”; the project releases do not contain the commercial game.
The game launches but rendering is broken
- Update the Vulkan-capable GPU driver.
- Start with the Native renderer, then try the Emulated renderer as the project’s fallback and reference path.
- Allow shader preparation to finish before judging the first launch. Initial shader work can make startup appear slower than later runs.
- If the issue occurs only in one mode, record that mode and report it against the exact project release instead of concluding that the entire game is incompatible.
A mode crashes after basic gameplay works
That behavior is consistent with the project’s warning that unlisted content may still crash. Reproduce the problem in a documented build, note the mode, region, update, DLC, renderer, operating system, and GPU, and check newer release notes. Do not use a successful 1v1 match as evidence that every mode is supported.
Performance is below the reported 60 fps
The README’s 60-fps result comes from specified project tests, including Windows 11 with an RX 7900 XT and Steam Deck on the Low preset. It is not a minimum specification or a promise for other GPUs. Verify the Vulkan driver, let shaders prepare, test the Low preset on Steam Deck, and compare Native and Emulated renderers. If your hardware is NVIDIA, Intel, Windows 10, or desktop Linux, remember that the README does not report a corresponding test.
Online or ranked functions do not work
Ranked Match and leaderboards are listed as unsupported, while online Player Match is listed as tested and playable. Treat those as separate features; success in Player Match does not imply ranked services or leaderboards are available.

These projects evolve, and compatibility notes are tied to versions. Before installing, open the current recompilation repository and release information. For Xenia, follow the compatibility-list link from its official FAQ. For RPCS3, open the exact game-ID and media entry in the official compatibility wiki.
The date matters as well: the recompilation README cited here was accessed October 13, 2026, and the RPCS3 compatibility page shows an edit dated September 30, 2026. A later release can add a renderer fix or a new playable mode, while a regression can invalidate an older report. Record the project version and your source region when asking for help.
Bottom line for a PC player
Static recompilation is technically distinct from emulation and currently offers the clearest documented Xbox 360-to-Windows route for WWE All Stars when you own and can dump the required media. Its Native Vulkan renderer, reported 60-fps tests, and listed playable modes make it a practical first option on the configurations the project actually tested. Xenia remains the conventional Xbox 360 emulation choice, and RPCS3 applies only to the PlayStation 3 release; both require checking current, version-specific compatibility records. None of the available evidence supports declaring one route universally superior, so choose according to your console version, source files, operating system, hardware, and the exact features you need.
