Blizzard’s October 7, 2026 explanation confirms weekly tasks, holiday-week battleground bonuses, and a 14-rank reward ladder, but it does not specify the weekly reset day, time, time zone, or the cap’s numeric size. Those details are not established by the official material reviewed, so do not assume the reset matches another version or region of WoW.
As of October 13, 2026, Blizzard’s game page presents WoW: Forever as upcoming, with a beta running September 17 through October 21 and launch listed for November 4, 2026. Because those dates and the rules may change during beta, check current in-game information and official announcements before planning around a particular reset.

How the weekly PvP grind is structured
Think of the system as two connected but different tracks. Honor is a currency for PvP equipment. Rank Points move your character through the rank ladder, and weekly progress in that track is capped. PvP activities can contribute to one or both tracks, but the rewards are not interchangeable: earning Honor does not itself tell you how close you are to the next rank, and rank progress is not a substitute for the currency needed to buy gear.
There is also a seasonal journey made up of weekly tasks. Completing tasks grants Honor and Rank Points; three tasks each season additionally grant a Legacy Point. Blizzard says these tasks remain available in future seasons because they are tied to the Legacy System. That is important when deciding what to prioritize: the word “weekly” describes the task structure, but Blizzard does not say that every task disappears at the weekly reset.

What resets weekly—and what is not yet specified
Blizzard confirms a weekly cap on Rank Point progress and describes weekly journey tasks. Its October 7 progression explanation does not name the reset day, the exact time, the time zone, or the numeric cap. The reviewed official material therefore establishes that a weekly boundary matters, but not when that boundary occurs or how many Rank Points it permits.
Do not use a retail WoW, Classic, or regional reset calendar as a substitute. A familiar schedule from another game version is not evidence of WoW: Forever’s schedule. Likewise, do not assume that the cap resets at a particular local midnight or that the tasks vanish when the cap refreshes. Until Blizzard supplies a schedule in current official information or in the game, check the PvP tab and the live task interface rather than building a deadline around an unconfirmed time.

- Requires world of warcraft standard game box contains game card only
The seasonal carryover question is separate from the weekly reset question. Blizzard says the journey tasks stay available in future seasons, but the progression article does not establish whether Rank, Honor, or gear carries over at a season change. It would be inaccurate to infer a rank reset, rank preservation, or a currency wipe from the task statement alone.

Blizzard identifies defeating other players, completing battlegrounds, and finishing relevant PvP quests as Honor sources. Battlegrounds and relevant PvP quests also appear among the sources of Rank Points. The seasonal journey tasks award both. The official explanation does not publish numeric activity rates, so the table below describes reward types rather than estimating which route is fastest.

What battleground holiday bonuses mean
During a battleground’s holiday week, Blizzard says the highlighted battleground provides increased Honor and an additional Rank Point boost. The article gives no exact multiplier or number of points, so the size of the bonus cannot be calculated from the published explanation. Blizzard also says it adjusted acquisition rates to make battleground gains more consistent, with the stated aim of making map choice less dependent on feeling pushed toward Alterac Valley for efficiency.
That design goal is not a published map-by-map ranking. Without current numeric rates, there is no supported basis for declaring one battleground the best farm. If you want to make practical progress, choose a battleground that is currently highlighted or one you are willing to play, and use the in-game reward information to verify what is active rather than relying on old rate comparisons.

A practical way to plan a week
- Check your character’s PvP tab. Blizzard points players to this interface for current rank, Rank Points, and purchase eligibility. Use it to see your actual progress rather than estimating from matches played.
- Review the available journey tasks. Identify tasks that award Honor and Rank Points, and note any that contribute one of the season’s three Legacy Points. Since Blizzard says tasks remain available in future seasons, do not treat an uncompleted task as automatically forfeited at the weekly boundary.
- Pick an activity based on the reward you need. For Honor, battlegrounds, relevant PvP quests, and defeating players are named sources. For Rank Points, battlegrounds, relevant PvP quests, and journey tasks are named sources. Battlegrounds and tasks can serve both goals.
- Check whether a battleground holiday is active. A highlighted battleground week brings increased Honor and an added Rank Point boost. Blizzard does not state the exact bonus amount in the progression article.
- Track the Rank Point cap in game. The system has a weekly cap, but the published explanation does not provide its numeric size or reset timestamp. Avoid assuming additional activity will advance rank after the cap; confirm the current cap state in game.
- Spend Honor with your target gear in mind. The blue set is an Honor purchase. The epic set requires the blue piece plus an Emboldened Seal, and the seal has a rank requirement. Check the purchase eligibility shown in the PvP tab before treating a gear target as immediately available.
How Honor gear and rank rewards fit together
Honor unlocks a blue-quality PvP set and an epic-quality set. The epic piece is not simply a second Honor purchase: it requires the corresponding blue piece and an Emboldened Seal, with rank requirements attached to the seals. In practical terms, gear progression depends on both the currency track and rank eligibility. Having enough Honor alone does not establish that you meet the seal requirement.
Blizzard says it added or reworked options for specializations that previously lacked them. Its example is Shaman gear covering healer, melee, and caster roles. That is a useful signal that gear options are intended to address different specialization roles, but the progression article does not provide a full item-by-item stat or cost list. Use the current vendor and PvP tab to confirm the exact items and eligibility for your character.

The 14 listed rank milestones and their rewards
Blizzard’s published ladder names 14 rank milestones. These are the rewards listed for each rank; the article does not supply the Rank Point thresholds needed to reach them. The table preserves the distinction between rank rewards and Honor gear rather than implying that reaching a rank automatically buys or equips an item.
| Rank | Listed reward |
|---|---|
| 1 | Tabard |
| 2 | PvP trinket |
| 3 | Cloaks |
| 4 | Necklace |
| 5 | Combat potions |
| 6 | Tabard |
| 7 | Battle standard |
| 8 | Epic bracers / epic belt upgrade token |
| 9 | Epic boots upgrade token |
| 10 | Epic gloves upgrade token |
| 11 | Mounts |
| 12 | Epic legs / epic shoulders upgrade token |
| 13 | Epic chest / epic helm upgrade token |
| 14 | Epic weapons |
Rank 14 is the epic weapon milestone. Blizzard identifies High Warlord as the ultimate Horde title and Grand Marshal as the ultimate Alliance title. The published reward list does not state whether those titles or rank status persist into a later season, so treat season-end retention as unconfirmed.
What to verify before committing to a schedule
- Reset timestamp: The official progression article does not publish the day, time, or time zone. Look for an explicit current announcement or live in-game timer.
- Cap size: A weekly Rank Point cap is confirmed, but its numeric value is not provided in that article.
- Activity values: Reward categories and holiday boosts are described, but exact Honor and Rank Point rates are not published there.
- Season transition: Continued availability of journey tasks is confirmed; carryover for rank, Honor, and gear is not.
- Beta changes: The game is still presented as upcoming in October 2026, with a listed November 4 launch date. Live rules and dates can change, so use current official information for launch-era planning.
Access and availability
Blizzard’s WoW: Forever home page says the game requires a WoW subscription or game time. Its displayed schedule as of October 13, 2026 lists the beta from September 17 through October 21, 2026 and launch on November 4, 2026. Those are the dates shown on the page at that time, not a guarantee that the schedule or progression rules will remain unchanged.
