In the United States, WNBA League Pass is mainly for live out-of-market games and on-demand viewing—not every game live. Local broadcasts in your market and nationally televised games may be blacked out live on League Pass, so check the game’s schedule listing for its live outlet. In Canada, selected nationally televised games are also blacked out. Blackout rules and broadcast assignments vary by location and game.
What WNBA League Pass includes
The WNBA’s current League Pass page advertises live out-of-market games, on-demand games, hundreds of classic games, up to three simultaneous devices, selected alternate and Spanish-language feeds, rewind, and live stats. It also says an NBA TV subscription is included this season. Availability varies by country and local team footprint, and the live lineup is subject to blackout restrictions.

In the U.S., games carried nationally or by a local broadcaster in your market may be unavailable live on League Pass. The WNBA’s blackout explanation names ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, Disney+, CBS, Paramount+, Amazon Prime Video, NBC, Peacock, and USA Network among national distributors. This list can change, so check the current schedule for the specific game rather than assuming a channel’s status applies for the whole season.

What local broadcasts include
A local broadcast may be carried by a regional sports network, a broadcast station, or a local streaming partner. If that outlet has the game in your area, it is the live route to check when League Pass lists the game as locally blacked out. The WNBA’s League Pass page provides a ZIP-code lookup for U.S. local-team coverage; the service may use IP address or device location services to determine location.

Local availability is market-specific. Look up your ZIP code and consult the schedule entry for the game, which identifies where it is being shown. Do not infer that a local team’s broadcast is available throughout a state or that the same outlet carries every game.

National broadcasts are games assigned to outlets with broader distribution, rather than the local outlet for a particular team. The WNBA’s April 22, 2026 national schedule announcement said 216 regular-season games would be nationally distributed in the 2026 season. It listed distribution across ABC/ESPN, Amazon Prime Video, CBS Sports/Paramount+, ION, NBC/Peacock/NBCSN, USA Network, and NBA TV, among others.

That announcement describes League Pass as carrying select live games subject to local blackouts, plus the largest on-demand game archive. It does not mean every nationally televised game is live on League Pass. For any given matchup, use the schedule to identify its national outlet and check whether that outlet carries it live.
The WNBA Help Center summarizes the broader geographic distinction this way: “In countries where WNBA League Pass is available, all games are available live, except in the US and Canada, where local and national blackouts apply.”

What changes for viewers in Canada
Canada has a different blackout scope from the United States: the WNBA says selected nationally televised games are unavailable live on League Pass. Its current guidance names TSN, SN, CTV, and CTV2 as Canadian national outlets for blacked-out games. Those games are available through the Canadian broadcaster, while League Pass replays arrive shortly after the game concludes. Check the current schedule because distributors and game assignments can change.

Choose the route that fits your viewing
- For live out-of-market games: League Pass is the relevant option, subject to the game’s blackout status and availability in your country.
- For a game blacked out locally or nationally: use the schedule to find the live broadcaster or platform. If you already subscribe to that service, it may be the direct live option for that game.
- If replay is enough: League Pass replay timing depends on the blackout type: next day at 6 a.m. ET for nationally blacked-out U.S. games, and shortly after the game ends for locally blacked-out games.
- When comparing cost: the WNBA lists the annual League Pass plan at $39.99 per year. Your other service costs depend on your existing subscriptions and local packages; the available information does not establish a universal cheapest choice.
Devices, purchasing, and Amazon Prime
You can purchase League Pass on WNBA.com or through the WNBA app. The WNBA lists iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, and Apple TV among supported devices, with desktop viewing through its schedule page. The WNBA Help Center’s purchase information also notes that subscriptions can be purchased through Amazon Prime in select markets.
A Prime-purchased League Pass subscription is limited to Amazon Prime apps and the Prime website; it cannot be used to sign in to WNBA.com or the WNBA app. The WNBA’s Prime guidance, updated June 9, 2026, listed Australia, Austria, Brazil, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States as markets where Prime League Pass could be purchased at that time. Check current availability in your market before buying.
