Will a 520mm rangehood cover your cooktop?
The hood is 520mm wide, and Sirius lists compatible cooktop widths of 300–600mm. That range is the manufacturer’s stated compatibility, not proof that the hood will capture fumes equally well across every cooktop shape, cooking position or installation.
Compare the hood’s 520mm width with the cooktop’s full width and depth, and consider where the burners or cooking zones sit. A cooktop near the top of the stated width range may extend beyond the hood’s width. Also check whether cabinetry, trim or nearby walls affect the hood’s position. If your cooktop is wider or deeper than the hood, ask the installer whether the proposed placement and extraction arrangement are appropriate rather than relying on the airflow figure alone.

How high should it be above a gas or induction cooktop?
The September 2025 Sirius Kiara manual specifies the clearance from the top of the cooktop trivets to the underside of the hood:
- Induction or electric: 600–700mm.
- Gas: 650–750mm.
Sirius warns that installing above the maximum clearance may affect performance and warranty because extraction performance can be compromised. These are the manufacturer’s instructions; local requirements and the installer’s assessment also apply. Check the manual for the exact model and installation site before setting the height.

Does the SL906DL520 need 150mm ducting?
Sirius specifies a 150mm duct diameter. Treat this as an installation requirement to verify, not just a number to match at the hood connection: the cabinet space, duct path, bends and external termination all affect whether the installation can be completed as intended.
Before purchase or cabinet modification, have the installer check the current appliance and installation guide against the actual site. Do not assume a smaller duct or an altered route will preserve the stated performance; the available specifications do not establish the effect of such changes. The hood’s published dimensions are 520 × 290 × 350mm, but those dimensions alone do not establish the cabinet cut-out or all required clearances.
