Scheduling multiple YouTube Live events and starting multiple broadcasts are different actions. YouTube documents limits of 10 active streams per channel and 3 per stream key, but those are limits on starting simultaneous broadcasts—not a stated general cap on upcoming scheduled events. If Studio refuses to create another event, the exact error and the action that triggers it matter.
First identify what YouTube is refusing
“Multiple scheduled streams” can mean several things: creating more upcoming event pages, connecting an encoder to an event, or pressing Go Live while another broadcast is already running. Those actions involve different checks. The active-stream limits do not, by themselves, explain a failure to schedule an event that will happen later.
- Cannot create another upcoming event: check the exact Studio error, account eligibility and any daily live-stream creation limit. The official guidance cited below does not establish a universal maximum number of upcoming events.
- Cannot start a broadcast: count the broadcasts that are already active and how many are using the same stream key.
- Cannot connect the encoder: check that the event and encoder settings match, and whether you are reusing the intended stream settings.
What YouTube’s limits do—and do not—cover
YouTube Help says there can be up to 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key, with both limits applied at the same time. When either limit is reached, additional streams cannot be started. These are concurrency limits for active broadcasts, not evidence of a cap on scheduled event pages. The distinction also appears in Google’s API model: a liveBroadcast represents an event, while a liveStream holds transmission settings. In its recurring-event example, Google describes multiple scheduled broadcasts using the same stream settings, with one event live at a time. Separate stream settings are another possible setup when broadcasts need distinct transmission configurations. Neither approach overrides the active-stream limits. Schedule another event in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room.
- Choose Manage, then click Schedule stream.
- Choose Create new for a separate event, or Reuse settings if the encoder configuration should carry over from a previous stream.
- Complete the event details and schedule it. A scheduled event has a shareable page where viewers can opt into reminders.
YouTube documents both scheduling choices in its encoder setup guide. Reusing settings copies settings and the stream key from a previous stream; YouTube does not say every scheduled event needs a unique key. For the key workflow, see Manage live stream settings.
Troubleshoot in this order
1. Capture the precise error and failing action
Note whether the error appears while creating an event, attaching encoder settings, or starting a broadcast. Also record whether another broadcast is already live, how many are active, and whether they use the same key. Without those details, there is no reliable way to identify an account-specific cause.

2. Check account eligibility and daily limits
YouTube’s general guidance says a channel must be verified and must not have live-streaming restrictions in the prior 90 days. Its error guidance also names “Daily live stream limit achieved.” If the message points to a daily limit or says the channel cannot stream, follow the relevant steps in YouTube’s live-streaming guidance and live-streaming error messages. These are checks to make, not a diagnosis of every scheduling failure.
3. Separate scheduling from concurrency
If you are only creating upcoming event pages, try Manage → Schedule stream and choose Create new or Reuse settings as appropriate. If you are trying to go live while other broadcasts are running, count active streams against both YouTube thresholds: 10 per channel and 3 per key.

4. Decide whether settings should be shared

Do not confuse dual stream with two independent events
YouTube’s horizontal/vertical dual-stream mode provides two formats of one broadcast with a shared URL and live chat. It is not the same as scheduling two independent events. The feature is described in YouTube’s live-streaming guidance.
