You can run multiple YouTube livestreams from one PC by creating a separate live stream for each broadcast in YouTube Studio, then configuring an encoder to send each feed with its matching YouTube server URL and stream key. Your practical ceiling depends on both YouTube’s concurrent-stream limits and your computer’s encoding capacity and upload bandwidth. For round-the-clock operation, plan to monitor interruptions rather than assume a PC setup will run unattended indefinitely.
Know YouTube’s simultaneous-stream limits
YouTube Help currently states that a channel can have up to 10 active streams, with up to 3 active streams per stream key. Both limits apply at the same time; once either limit is reached, you cannot start another stream. These are platform limits, not a guarantee that one PC can encode that many feeds. Check YouTube’s current live-streaming eligibility and limits before building a production setup, since platform rules can change.
Check channel eligibility first
YouTube’s getting-started guidance says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. The minimum age stated in that guidance is 16. First-time activation of live streaming can take up to 24 hours, so enable it before your planned launch rather than on the day you need to go live. Set up each stream in YouTube Studio
- Create or select a broadcast. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create a stream for each distinct feed you intend to publish. Configure each stream’s details and settings there.
- Get the matching connection details. For each stream, use its YouTube server URL and stream key in the encoder output assigned to that feed. Do not assume one key should be reused for every broadcast; follow the stream settings you created.
- Protect the keys. Treat stream keys like passwords: anyone who obtains one may be able to send a broadcast to your channel. Keep them out of public documents, screenshots, and shared configuration files.
- Set output quality deliberately. Choose a resolution, frame rate, and bitrate appropriate to the content and your available upload. The official guidance does not establish one universal bitrate or PC specification for an unspecified number of simultaneous feeds.
- Start and check each feed. Start the encoder output, then confirm that each intended stream appears in the Live Control Room and that the preview and playback are correct. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance is available at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
Calculate whether your upload can carry every feed
Add the outgoing bitrates of all streams sent from the PC. That sum must fit within the connection’s available upload bandwidth, not its advertised download speed. YouTube recommends reserving 20% headroom: its streaming tips say total streaming bitrate should not exceed available upload bandwidth and recommend leaving room.

For example, if three outputs are configured at bitrate values of B1, B2, and B3, budget for at least (B1 + B2 + B3) ÷ 0.8 of stable upload capacity, before accounting for other household or office traffic. This is a planning calculation based on YouTube’s 20% headroom recommendation, not a promise that the connection will remain stable. Measure upload performance under realistic conditions and leave additional room if other devices share the line.
Judge the PC by the workload, not a stream-count guess
Every locally encoded output uses system resources. As simultaneous feeds increase, encoding load, heat, and the chance of dropped frames become more important. The workload also varies with resolution, frame rate, scene complexity, encoder settings, and whether the feeds use separate encodes or share processing. YouTube does not publish a CPU, GPU, memory, or storage specification that guarantees a given number of concurrent streams from a general-purpose PC.

YouTube’s encoder guide notes that NVIDIA GPUs include the NVENC hardware encoder, which can perform video encoding without using the CPU for that encoding task. That is a vendor capability statement relayed by YouTube, not an independent benchmark or assurance that a particular card will handle your specific multi-stream workload. Hardware encoding does not remove network, thermal, configuration, or monitoring limits.
Choose local encoding or a cloud relay

These are broad selection criteria from YouTube’s guidance on streaming across platforms, not performance guarantees for a particular PC or relay provider. A relay changes where distribution work happens; it does not remove the need to check the service’s destination support, limits, pricing, and reliability terms.

Test and monitor a 24/7 setup
A successful test is more useful than estimating from a component list alone. YouTube recommends previewing the stream and checking playback, archive-file growth, and audio and video quality. Follow its live streaming tips during a test that reflects your intended duration and number of feeds.
- Confirm every feed appears in the Live Control Room and is accessible as intended.
- Check that audio and video remain in sync and that quality is acceptable during playback.
- Verify that archives are growing when you expect them to.
- Watch encoder load, temperatures, dropped frames, and upload use while all outputs are active.
- Decide who will notice and respond to a failed encoder, network outage, power loss, or YouTube interruption.
YouTube’s guidance is operational advice, not a 24/7 uptime guarantee or a tested redundancy design. A single PC and internet connection remain potential points of failure; choose monitoring and recovery arrangements that match the cost of an interruption.
