Vivaldi full-page capture failures have different causes depending on the platform and symptom. On desktop, first confirm that you selected Full Page, then check the documented 30,000-pixel maximum and the capture storage folder. On Android, use Menu > Capture Page > Full web page rather than the Share menu’s screenshot. If the command is missing, hangs, captures only what is visible, stops partway down, or saves somewhere unexpected, the troubleshooting path below separates those cases instead of treating them as one bug.
Start by identifying the platform and the symptom
Vivaldi has separate capture interfaces on desktop and Android. Identify both your platform and what “fails” means before changing settings.

Desktop: take a true full-page capture
Select Full Page, not Selection
On Vivaldi desktop, open the camera icon in the Status Bar and choose Full Page. A Selection capture records only the region you draw, so it cannot produce the entire document.
If the camera icon is not visible, Vivaldi provides other entry points:

- Use a configured Capture shortcut.
- Open Quick Commands with F2 on Windows/Linux or ⌘E on macOS, then search for Capture.
- Use the Capture integration in Notes.
Reload the page before trying again if content is still changing. A full-page request is made against the current document state; it does not guarantee that a page’s late-loading elements have finished rendering.
Account for the 30,000-pixel ceiling
Vivaldi’s desktop help defines Full Page as a screenshot of the full site length with a maximum of 30,000 pixels. This is an image-height limit, not a statement about file size. If the document is taller than that, a result that ends at a consistent point can be explained by the documented ceiling. The limit does not prove that every partial capture has the same cause: shorter pages can also be affected by extensions, blocked resources, or a browser setup issue.
There is no documented automatic “split into several images” workflow in the cited desktop help. If you need every section of a page above the limit, capture smaller regions or use a separate capture service that can process the page as an image or PDF.
Check where Vivaldi put the result
Desktop Capture supports three destination types:
- Image file: choose PNG or JPG.
- Clipboard: paste the result into an image editor or document immediately after capture.
- Note: create a Vivaldi Note containing the capture.
For file output, inspect Settings > Webpages > Image Capture > Capture Storage Folder. If you selected Note, Vivaldi’s Notes Manager documentation says the capture is attached with its webpage link and creation date, so look in the relevant note rather than in Downloads.

Android: use Capture Page, not the Share screenshot
Open the full-page control
- Open the Vivaldi menu.
- Choose Capture Page.
- Select the option for the full web page.
Android’s Share-menu screenshot is a different feature. It captures the visible area and includes the browser user interface. The Share menu’s Long screenshot flow lets you manually size a region; it is not the same as Capture Page’s full-page option and should not be used when you need a clean page without browser chrome.

Interpret Android length limits carefully
Vivaldi states that some page-length restrictions may apply to Android full-page capture, but the cited help page does not publish a numeric threshold. Therefore, a truncated Android result cannot be compared with the desktop 30,000-pixel figure. Record the Vivaldi version, device, page URL, and approximate page length when reporting a repeatable failure; do not assume that the desktop limit applies.
Desktop troubleshooting, one variable at a time
Vivaldi’s general troubleshooting guidance is not presented as a capture-specific cure. It is an isolation sequence for finding whether the browser environment is interfering with the page or command.
- Update and restart. Install the current Vivaldi build offered for your platform, quit the browser completely, and launch it again. Retry the same page and capture mode.
- Test a clean environment. Open a Guest session or create a new user profile, visit the same URL, and run Full Page. If it works there, the original profile’s extensions or settings are the likely variable.
- Disable extensions temporarily. Turn off extensions, reload the page, and retry. Restore them one at a time after the test so you can identify a conflict rather than leaving every extension disabled.
- Turn off tracker and ad blocking for the test. Vivaldi notes that blocked elements can affect website functionality. Disable blocking for the page, reload, and capture again. Re-enable protection after the diagnostic run.
- Pause a VPN connection. Test once without the VPN, then restore it. A change here indicates that the network path, not the capture command itself, deserves further investigation.
- Use hardware-acceleration settings only when the symptom fits. Vivaldi’s guidance discusses hardware acceleration for video or media problems and interface appearance or responsiveness. It is not a general full-page-capture fix, so do not change it solely because an image is truncated.
Change one item per run, reload after each change, and record whether the symptom is “missing command,” “hang,” “visible viewport only,” “partial length,” or “missing file.” That record prevents unrelated fixes from being mistaken for the cause.

The camera icon is absent
Use Quick Commands or a configured shortcut instead of assuming Capture has been removed. On desktop, the Notes Capture integration is another documented route. On Android, open the browser menu and look specifically for Capture Page; the operating system’s Share menu is not a replacement for it.
The image contains only the top of the page
Check the mode first. Desktop must be set to Full Page rather than Selection. Android must use Capture Page with the full-web-page choice rather than Share. If the mode is correct, test a clean profile and temporarily disable extensions and blocking.

The image ends at a repeatable height
For desktop, compare that height with the 30,000-pixel maximum. A page longer than the ceiling may legitimately stop there. If the page is shorter, run the clean-profile and blocking tests; the official help does not identify one universal cause for every partial result.
The capture never completes
Restart and update first, then reproduce in Guest or a new profile. Disable extensions, page blocking, and VPN separately. If the page itself relies on resources that are being blocked, restoring those resources for the test can change the result.

Check the Capture Storage Folder under Settings > Webpages > Image Capture. Also verify whether the destination was Clipboard or Note instead of an image file. A Note capture should be visible in Notes Manager with the source link and creation date.
When to report a defect
If the same URL and steps fail in an updated Vivaldi installation, a clean profile, and a test without extensions, blocking, or VPN, preserve the details before escalating:
- Desktop or Android, operating system, and Vivaldi version.
- The exact capture entry point and mode selected.
- Whether the symptom is a missing command, hang, error, visible-only image, truncation, or missing output.
- The page URL and whether the page is above the desktop 30,000-pixel ceiling.
- Which isolation steps changed the result, if any.
Vivaldi recommends discussing reproducible behavior on its Forum and filing a bug report according to its reporting guidelines.
