Investor Vinod Khosla argues that trust could set it apart from rival personal agents. That is his investment thesis—not an independently verified safety finding. Early reported tests were mixed, and the available sources do not include an independent audit of Fo’s privacy or security.
What is Wajo’s Fo agent?
Wajo describes itself as a builder of action agents and presents Fo as its consumer-facing agent. Rather than only answering questions, Fo is intended to coordinate with people and businesses to carry out tasks such as scheduling, travel planning and gifting. The launch post listed examples Wajo said came from real user tasks in the two weeks before its August 25, 2026 announcement: ordering food across three countries and four languages, sending gifts and flowers, calling a cafe, booking personal services, checking in for a flight, finding flights, comparing hotels and insurance, finding a handyman, and renewing a domain registration. These are company-provided examples, not an independent evaluation of how reliably Fo completes such tasks.

Wajo founder Shivani Poddar’s background is described by the company as including natural-language-generation research at Carnegie Mellon University, work on an early social conversation agent for the Alexa Prize, multimodal AI work at Meta, frontier-model work at Google DeepMind and product work at Google Labs. Why does Vinod Khosla think trust matters for AI agents?
An agent that acts on someone’s behalf may handle personal information, communicate with other people and make or facilitate purchases. Khosla’s argument is that users must trust an agent before delegating those actions. In a TechCrunch interview, he said: “I think the most important thing in an agent, because it’s acting for you, is trust. You have to have trust in the agent, and I think compared to either Muse or Instinct, Wajo is the most trustworthy because it is architected to focus on trust and safety first, and some of the others are not,” TechCrunch
That is Khosla’s opinion as an investor, not the result of a published comparison or safety audit. His criticism of rivals’ incentives, including Meta’s advertising model, should likewise be understood as his view rather than a neutral finding about every competing product.

Poddar has made a related argument about data access. In the same interview, she said: “Trust is something you have to build from the get-go because one of the technological things that has not been solved yet is teaching agents to unlearn. If they get access to your personal data on day zero, they will always have it for the future. I think trust needs to be built from day zero, not only in your architecture, but in product choices,” TechCrunch
How does Wajo say Fo handles payments, data and consequential actions?
Wajo and TechCrunch describe several design choices intended to limit exposure or add human oversight. Their descriptions explain the product’s positioning, but the available sources do not provide an independent privacy or security audit confirming how well these protections work in practice.

Can Fo make calls and handle errands reliably?
The early evidence reported by TechCrunch is too limited to establish Fo’s overall success rate. The reporter said a call to an airline about an upgrade succeeded. A separate call to the reporter’s partner to remind her to feed the cats did not go smoothly, and disclosure was less clear. These anecdotal examples do not show how often Fo succeeds or fails across users and tasks, but they make call quality and clear disclosure important questions for anyone considering delegation. TechCrunch reported on October 6, 2026, that Wajo said Fo was being used in 107 countries and had grown 10× since launching in late September. The article disclosed neither a user total nor the methodology behind the growth figure, so those numbers do not establish adoption at scale or product reliability. TechCrunch

What should you assess before trusting a personal agent?
There is no standardized head-to-head test in the available reporting that establishes Fo as safer or more reliable than other personal agents. To judge any agent that acts on your behalf, look for evidence on the practical risks that matter to your use case:

- What sensitive data it accesses, how much it retains, and whether access can be limited.
- How payment details are protected when the agent makes purchases.
- Whether it clearly identifies itself and explains its role during calls.
- When a human takes over and what information that person can see.
- Whether you approve consequential or difficult-to-reverse actions before they happen.
