The iPhone you choose is only part of the calculation: your plan, whether you add or port a line, the trade-in device and its condition, and the promotion’s bill-credit terms can all change the offer you qualify for.
Why one iPhone can have a different promotion from another
A T-Mobile promotion is not necessarily a single rebate that applies equally to every iPhone. The offer terms specify which purchase models qualify, and may set different credit amounts or requirements for different devices or offer groups. A promotion naming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, for example, does not establish that every iPhone 18 model qualifies on the same terms.

The customer’s eligibility matters too. One offer may require a qualifying plan and trade-in, while another may depend on adding a voice line or porting a number. If an account does not meet a requirement, it may qualify for a different offer—or none under that promotion.

As listed on T-Mobile’s U.S. offer pages accessed October 4, 2026, the iPhone 18 Special Deal began October 1, 2026, and names iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max as eligible purchase models. Its trade-in credit tiers depend on the traded smartphone’s model and condition, and the offer shown applies credits over up to 36 months subject to qualifying-line requirements. Those terms describe that specific offer, not a universal rule for every iPhone promotion.

T-Mobile’s Apple deals page also lists offers with varying requirements, including qualifying service, a trade-in, a new voice line, or a port-in. It includes both trade-in and no-trade-in examples, and notes account limits and restrictions on combining offers. T-Mobile labels promotions limited-time and subject to change, so the terms displayed for a particular promotion ID at checkout are more reliable than an older headline or archived offer.
How the trade-in changes the calculation
The purchase model and the trade-in model are separate parts of eligibility. T-Mobile says trade-in value depends on the old device’s make, model, and condition. A quoted promotional total may combine an initial trade-in value with recurring promotional bill credits; it is not necessarily cash paid at purchase or a guaranteed value for every trade-in.

For its trade-in process, T-Mobile says recurring promotional credits may take up to two bill cycles to appear. Its FAQ also warns that failing to return a requested trade-in within 30 days can remove the associated promotion. These process details should be checked against the terms for the offer you select.
What to compare before choosing a model
Compare the complete transaction rather than only the largest advertised “up to” credit. Use the offer details for your account and check each of these items:

- Eligible purchase model: Confirm the exact iPhone model and, where specified, storage configuration.
- Plan: Check the qualifying plan family, any customer-category restriction, and the plan’s monthly cost.
- Line requirement: Determine whether you must add a voice line, port in a number, or make another account change.
- Trade-in: Verify that your old phone’s model and condition qualify, and review its estimated trade-in value separately from promotional credits.
- Credit schedule: Check the total promotional credit, how long it is paid, when credits begin, and any account limits.
- Upfront and ongoing cost: Account for taxes, any connection charge, the financed device balance, required service, and how long you need to keep the qualifying line active to receive credits.
- Other discounts: Confirm whether the promotion can be combined with any discount or offer already on your account.
Why the monthly credit terms matter
Promotional credits are generally delivered over a stated financing period rather than as an immediate discount. T-Mobile’s current offer descriptions tie continued credits to the qualifying line remaining active and in good standing. What happens if you cancel service or pay off the device early depends on the specific promotion terms; check the promotion ID rather than assuming all offers handle those situations alike.
Older promotions in T-Mobile’s 2026 past-offers archive had different eligible plans, trade-in tiers, credit limits, and 24- or 36-month credit periods. That history helps explain why offer headlines can vary, but archived terms do not establish what is available now.

How to confirm the deal that applies to you
- Open the current T-Mobile offer and confirm that the exact iPhone model you want is listed.
- Read the offer’s full requirements for plan, new line or port-in, trade-in, account limits, and combining discounts.
- Check the trade-in estimate for your old phone and review any condition or return instructions.
- At checkout, confirm the promotion ID, credit amount and schedule, financed balance, upfront charges, and qualifying-line terms.
- Save the offer terms tied to that promotion ID. If the displayed offer or account eligibility is unclear, ask T-Mobile to confirm it before completing the purchase.
