First check when capture begins, then whether the specific images have loaded, whether scrolling triggers them, and whether their requests fail in the scheduled run.
Start by checking whether capture is simply too early
A scheduled job can reach its screenshot step while the page is still loading. Check the job’s navigation timeout and any separate delay or maximum wait before capture. A longer fixed delay can help diagnose a timing problem, but it is not a reliable readiness test: page speed, failed resources, and site behavior can vary between runs. Prefer a condition tied to the content you need when your automation tool allows it.
Wait for the images you need, not just a quiet network
In Playwright, networkidle means there have been no network connections for at least 500 milliseconds. The Playwright Page API discourages using it for testing and recommends web assertions to assess readiness instead: Playwright Page API.

Network quiet does not prove that an image has decoded, painted, or become visible. If you use Playwright, wait for an application-specific ready state or assert that the relevant image elements are loaded and visible. The exact condition depends on the page and how its images are implemented.
Check whether scrolling triggers the missing images
If images are missing mainly farther down a long page, compare a viewport capture with a full-page capture. Playwright defines a full-page screenshot as one covering the full scrollable page, but that does not necessarily prompt every site to load content that appears only after scrolling: Playwright screenshots documentation.

- Capture the initial viewport and note which images are absent.
- In the same browser context, scroll through the page area containing those images.
- Check whether the images appear after scrolling, then capture again.
- If scrolling makes the difference, configure the scheduled workflow to visit or scroll through relevant areas before capture, if the tool supports it.
Lazy-loading and other scroll-triggered behavior are site-specific, so treat this as a test rather than assuming every full-page capture needs the same workaround.

If waiting and scrolling do not resolve the problem, inspect the page in the same browser, session, viewport, and network context as the scheduled run. Check the image element’s source and whether its request failed or returned an error. A manual run that works while a scheduled run fails can point to differences in authentication, cookies, blocked third-party resources, network restrictions, or responsive layouts choosing a different asset. These are diagnostic possibilities, not a universal explanation.

- Third-party or network access: Check whether the image host is reachable from the scheduled environment and whether requests are blocked.
- Responsive asset selection: Match the intended viewport; a different layout may request a different image source.
- Request errors: Use the browser’s network details and logs, where available, to distinguish a failed image request from an image that has not appeared yet.
Use screenshot stability checks for visual tests
When the scheduled workflow uses Playwright Test for visual comparisons, its toHaveScreenshot() assertion waits for two consecutive screenshots to yield the same result before comparing the last one: Playwright visual comparisons documentation. This can help with visual stability checks, but it is a Playwright Test assertion—not a general readiness guarantee or a setting available in every screenshot scheduler.
