Apple documents full-page capture of Safari webpages, but does not specify every condition for the option to appear or a universal fix when it is absent.
Where to find Full Page in iPhone Safari
- Take a screenshot. On an iPhone with Face ID, quickly press and release the side button and the volume-up button together. On a model with a Home button, quickly press and release the side button and Home button together. Apple’s iPhone User Guide describes taking a screenshot and using Full Page.
- Open the screenshot editing view. In iOS 18 and earlier, tap the temporary thumbnail in the lower-left corner. In iOS 26, screenshot tools appear in a full-screen preview by default. Apple Support’s screenshot instructions explain the preview difference.
- Tap Full Page if the control is available. Apple gives an entire Safari webpage as an example of content that extends beyond the screen.
- Choose the save format: an image goes to Photos; a PDF goes to Files.
Why the option may seem to be missing
The first thing to check is whether you are looking at the editing controls rather than only the webpage or a closed screenshot preview. The preview workflow changed: iOS 18 and earlier show a thumbnail to tap, while iOS 26 opens screenshot tools in a full-screen view by default.

Apple’s documentation explains how to use Full Page but does not list all the conditions under which it appears. The available information therefore does not establish a single cause, settings toggle, or guaranteed fix for an absent control. It also does not establish that the feature works on every page, app, browser, or iOS release.
Does the Full-Screen Previews setting enable Full Page?
No such effect is documented by Apple. You can change the preview presentation at Settings > General > Screen Capture > Full-Screen Previews. This setting switches between a full-screen preview and a lower-left thumbnail; Apple does not say it enables or disables full-page capture. See Apple’s screen capture settings guide.

Workaround: save the webpage as a PDF
If your goal is to keep a copy of the webpage and Full Page is still unavailable, Safari has a separate save-as-PDF route: use Share > Markup > Save to Files. This creates a webpage PDF; it is an alternative to a full-page screenshot, not a fix for the missing screenshot control. Apple’s instructions for saving a webpage as a PDF cover the steps.
What reports from other users establish
A September 18, 2025 Apple Support Community post describes one iPhone 14 Pro Max owner who said the option disappeared after issues beginning with iOS 18 updates and later returned. The post does not establish a reproducible cause or confirmed fix, so it is an individual report rather than evidence of a widespread defect. Read the community post.
