Check the print preview first: if the clipping is already visible there, adjust the print layout before saving. The exact cause depends on the browser, device, webpage, and settings.
Find out where the clipping begins
Compare the webpage, the browser’s print preview, and the saved PDF. This separates a webpage or print-layout problem from a PDF-viewer display issue.

- The text is clipped on the webpage: the problem exists before printing. The PDF workflow may not be its cause.
- The preview is clipped: inspect the print settings and page layout before saving.
- The preview looks correct but the PDF seems clipped: open the file and inspect it at normal zoom. A viewer’s fit or zoom display can make page edges hard to judge. Check whether content is actually missing from the page.
Adjust the print layout
Microsoft Edge documents controls for orientation, margins, and “Scale to print,” including fit-to-printable-area, actual-size, and custom scale choices. The labels and available controls can vary by platform and print destination. Try one change at a time and review the preview after each adjustment.
- Open the webpage’s print interface and examine the preview.
- Try a fit-to-printable-area scale option if the page is wider than the preview.
- Check the margins. A narrower margin may help with side clipping if the destination allows it.
- Check orientation. Landscape may suit a wide page or table better than portrait.
- Review the preview again before saving. If the text becomes too small to read, consider printing a selection or using a supported simplified reading view instead.
These are troubleshooting steps, not proof that any one setting caused a particular PDF to clip. If a setting makes no difference, restore it and test the next one.

Try a simpler or partial print
Use a simplified reading view where available
Edge suggests Immersive Reader as a way to print a less cluttered version of a page. It is available only on supported websites, and it may change the page’s appearance rather than reproduce its original design.
Print selected content
Edge also documents printing selected webpage content. This can help determine whether a particular region or layout element is causing the problem; it is not a guaranteed fix for every page.

Try the system print dialog
Edge offers an option to use the system print dialog. Its settings may differ from the browser’s own print panel, so it can be a useful diagnostic path when the browser preview controls do not resolve the clipping.
Save a webpage as PDF in Chrome
Chrome’s documented workflow is to open the page, invoke Print, adjust the available print settings, and choose Save as PDF. Google’s instructions do not identify one universal setting that fixes all clipping.

- Open the webpage in Chrome and open the print interface.
- Check the preview and adjust the available settings that affect the page layout.
- Select Save as PDF as the destination and save the file.
- Open the PDF and verify that the content is present at normal zoom.
For Chrome’s official instructions, see Print from Chrome. Chrome also documents PDF viewing and annotation in Manage PDFs in Chrome; that documentation does not establish that a paid editor is needed to fix a webpage’s print layout.
When the text is still cut off
If the preview and available layout settings do not explain the problem, collect the details needed to narrow it down. The cause cannot be identified from the symptom alone.

- Browser name and version, plus operating system.
- Webpage URL and the print destination used.
- Paper size, orientation, margins, and scaling settings.
- Whether the clipping is at the sides, top or bottom, or across the entire page.
- Whether the clipping appears on the webpage, in print preview, or only in the saved PDF.
There is no basis here to assume that switching browsers will necessarily solve the issue. Browser controls and wording differ, and the webpage’s layout also matters.

Does changing browsers always fix a clipped PDF?
No. Browser controls differ, and the page design or print settings may be responsible. Switching browsers is not a guaranteed fix.
