Why MLB.TV blacks out a Dodgers–Braves game
MLB.TV’s live video availability depends on television rights, not just which team is at home. MLB says a club’s home television territory restriction applies whether the club is playing at home or away, and even if its game is not being televised in that territory. Since both the Dodgers and Braves have protected home territories, a viewer may be affected by either one.

There is a second, separate reason: some games are exclusive to national media partners. If a game is designated as a national exclusive, MLB says it is available through the named partner rather than MLB.TV or a Club.TV subscription. Which rule applies depends on the specific game and the viewer’s location.

Find the exact Dodgers–Braves date. Check the broadcaster or platform listed for that game; a listing for another date does not establish where this one is carried.

If the checker shows a local restriction, look for the authorized local broadcaster or in-market streaming option for the affected team. Confirm that the service accepts your location and carries that particular game.

What you can watch if live video is restricted
MLB says live audio for games unavailable to a viewer is included in MLB+ with an MLB.TV subscription. On-demand archives become available 90 minutes after a game ends. These provide audio or delayed viewing, not live video access through the blackout.
2026 MLB.TV prices and availability
MLB’s guide dated March 10, 2026, listed in-market, blackout-free streaming subscriptions for 22 of its 30 clubs. It listed MLB.TV for non-RSN teams at $99.99 per season or $19.99 per month, and a club-local-streaming-plus-MLB.TV bundle at $199.99 per season or $39.99 per month, described as 20% savings versus buying the services individually. These are dated 2026 figures, not evergreen prices; the guide says pricing for RSN-partner clubs, including the Dodgers, varies by market.
