A recurring Roku-related charge usually means a subscription renewed after a free trial or billing period. To identify it, sign in at my.roku.com and check Purchase history and invoices, then review active subscriptions. If Roku manages the subscription, turn off auto-renew in your Roku account or on your device. Some services—including Disney+, Hulu and Sling TV—manage cancellations themselves, even when Roku processes the payment.
Why Roku-related charges can keep appearing
A free trial can convert to a paid subscription when it ends if auto-renew remains on. Other common explanations are that the statement uses a parent-company name instead of the service brand, the purchase belongs to another Roku account or email address, or another person in the household subscribed.

Roku says its charges may appear on a statement as “Roku,” “Roku for ___,” or “The Roku Channel.” The Roku Channel itself is free to access, but paid subscriptions purchased through it can generate recurring charges. For example, Roku says an AMC+ subscription bought through The Roku Channel may appear under that descriptor.
Roku Support states that “Roku never charges for Roku accounts or for customer support services.” That statement concerns Roku’s own charges; it does not determine whether an unfamiliar third-party charge is fraudulent.

Find the charge in your Roku account
- Sign in at my.roku.com using the Roku account you think was used for the purchase.
- Open Purchase history and invoices.
- Compare the invoice details with the exact merchant description on your card or bank statement. A corporate or parent-company name may not match the streaming service’s familiar brand.
- Review your active subscriptions at my.roku.com/subscriptions to see whether a Roku-managed subscription is set to renew.
Roku’s purchase-history page says subscriptions bought directly from another streaming provider will not appear in Roku purchase history. If the charge is absent, check the provider’s account as well as other Roku accounts used in your household.
Examples of Roku statement descriptions
Roku lists examples such as “Roku for CBS Interactive” for Paramount+, “Roku for Warner Media Global Digital Services LLC” for HBO Max, “Roku for AMC Networks” for Shudder, and “Roku for Starz” for Starz. These are examples, not a complete or permanent list; use the invoice and your account history to confirm a charge.

Cancel a subscription Roku manages
For a subscription shown as active in your Roku account, turn off auto-renew online or from the Roku device. Roku says you keep access through the end of the current billing period after cancellation. A free trial must be cancelled before it ends to avoid the recurring charge.

Know which company can cancel it
The company that processes a payment and the company that controls a subscription are not always the same. Roku says Disney+, Hulu and Sling TV subscriptions must be managed by contacting the service directly, even when Roku appears on the statement. A subscription purchased directly from any other streaming service must also be cancelled through that provider.

Provider contact details and billing identifier
Roku’s US support article lists Disney+ at 888-905-7888, Hulu at 877-824-4858, and Sling TV at 888-394-6698. Contact details can change, so verify the current number on the provider’s official support site before calling.
Disney+ or Hulu may ask for the CIB (Customer Identifier for Billing) shown on a Roku invoice. Roku’s purchase-history article, last updated September 14, 2026, says the CIB appears on invoices dated September 4, 2026 or later.

If you cannot find the charge or subscription
- Check other Roku accounts: A household may have more than one email address or Roku account linked to its devices.
- Find the device’s linked email: On the Roku device, go to Settings > System > About.
- Ask household members: Someone else may have started a subscription or trial.
- Check the provider directly: If the statement does not identify Roku and the subscription is absent from Roku purchase history, Roku says it was purchased through the streaming provider. Contact the provider shown on the statement.
What a $1 Roku card entry may mean
Roku says a $1 card entry may be a temporary hold to verify a payment method, rather than a completed subscription charge, and says the hold will be refunded. Check the entry against your Roku account and statement; do not assume it represents a recurring subscription.
Where to take an unresolved billing issue
For a charge you believe Roku billed, use Roku’s support help pages and provide the relevant invoice and statement details. For a subscription managed by a streaming provider, contact that provider. Cancellation instructions explain how to stop future renewal; they do not guarantee a refund for a past charge.
