A private YouTube stream should limit who can watch; privacy alone should not stop IRL Pro from sending video. First check whether IRL Pro is still broadcasting and whether YouTube Studio still receives a signal. If both show a live feed, check who can access the private stream. If the signal is missing, investigate the stream URL and key, protocol, bitrate, and network instead.
First identify what “stops streaming” means
There are several different symptoms that can look alike from the viewer’s side. Check the app and YouTube Studio before changing settings:

- IRL Pro stops, disconnects, or keeps reconnecting: the phone may no longer be sending a stable feed to YouTube.
- YouTube Studio loses its incoming signal or preview: investigate the encoder connection, stream URL and key, protocol, bitrate, and network.
- Studio still shows an incoming signal, but a viewer cannot watch: check the stream’s visibility and the viewer’s access. A private stream is not available to everyone.
- The event ends while Studio still shows a healthy feed: look for a YouTube notice or enforcement action rather than assuming privacy caused it.
YouTube’s encoder guidance separates sending the feed from ending the event: “To end the stream, stop sending content from your encoder.” YouTube’s encoder instructions describe stopping the encoder transmission as the way to end a stream.

Check visibility and viewer access if the feed is still live
YouTube offers public, unlisted, and private visibility. Private restricts viewing to the owner and people specifically selected for access; unlisted streams can be watched by people with the link. Someone who is not permitted to view a private stream may see it as unavailable even though IRL Pro is still sending video.

- Open the live event in YouTube Studio and confirm its visibility.
- If it is private, check that the intended viewer has been granted access and is signed into the account that received it.
- If you want anyone with the link to be able to watch without making the stream public, consider unlisted instead. A link alone does not grant access to a private stream.
For a limited-access test, deliberately choose the visibility that fits your audience and confirm access with an account that should be able to watch. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; after a test, you can also change the archive’s visibility in Studio. If YouTube Studio has no incoming signal
Work through the connection checks before changing phones or buying equipment. IRL Pro’s documentation identifies key and URL changes, protocol mismatch, key status, and bitrate as troubleshooting targets.

- Replace the old stream URL and key. Copy the current complete URL and stream key from YouTube or the streaming service configured in IRL Pro, then replace the old values. A rotated key, or a change to the key’s region or protocol, can make the previous configuration invalid.
- Match the protocol. Confirm that IRL Pro is using the same streaming protocol configured for the YouTube stream. A mismatch can prevent a valid connection.
- Check that the key is active. Make sure the selected stream key has not been disabled or revoked. If you changed keys, confirm that IRL Pro is using the current one.
- Reduce bitrate if the connection cannot sustain it. A high bitrate can exceed the phone’s available upload capacity. YouTube recommends adequate upload bandwidth and notes that connectivity disruptions can break a stream; its streaming tips state, “A disruption on your connectivity could mean a broken stream.”
- Check the network. Confirm that the phone has a stable internet connection and enough upload capacity for the configured stream. If the signal drops when the connection changes or weakens, test on a more reliable network before replacing hardware.
If YouTube ends the event despite a healthy feed
Check Live Control Room and YouTube Studio for notices, warnings, or strikes. YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate a live stream if third-party content remains after a warning; copyright or Community Guidelines strikes can also terminate a live stream. The title alone does not establish that this is happening, so rely on the notice shown for the event. See YouTube’s live-streaming restrictions guidance.
