If an Auracast broadcast is missing or will not connect, first confirm that both the device you use to find the stream and your headphones, earbuds, or hearing aids support Auracast over Bluetooth LE Audio. Then use the discovery method documented for your devices or the venue: a broadcast list, a manufacturer’s app, or a QR code. An ordinary Bluetooth pairing scan may not show an Auracast stream because it is a broadcast, not a conventional audio accessory pairing.
Check that both devices support Auracast
Bluetooth by itself does not guarantee Auracast reception. The Bluetooth SIG describes Auracast as broadcast audio built on Bluetooth LE Audio and the Public Broadcast Profile, with relevant features introduced in Bluetooth Core Specification 5.2. Check the specifications for your exact receiver model and look for explicit Auracast and LE Audio support. There are two parts to the connection: an assistant scans for broadcasts and helps you select one; a compatible receiver uses the joining information the assistant provides. The assistant may be a phone, smartwatch, hearing-aid remote, or app. A device that pairs with a phone over Bluetooth is not necessarily able to receive Auracast broadcasts.
For the Android support Google documents, both the phone and headphones need LE Audio support, and availability is limited to selected devices. Check Google’s current Android Auracast guidance and the manufacturers’ documentation for your exact phone-and-receiver combination, including software and firmware requirements.

Use the discovery method supported by your setup
A broadcast may not appear in the Bluetooth pairing screen. Depending on the phone, accessory, app, and host, you may need a dedicated broadcast list, a manufacturer app, or a QR code supplied at the venue. Follow instructions for the exact device rather than relying on a menu path from another model.

- Open Quick Settings and tap Bluetooth.
- Tap the gear icon beside the LE Audio accessory.
- Select Find a broadcast.
- Choose the broadcast you want from the list.

If the venue or broadcast host provides a QR code, use it when your device’s documented workflow supports scanning one. For example, Phonak’s process is to open its Auracast assistant, tap Scan QR code, and follow the app prompts. The app then switches to the broadcast program. Menu labels and steps can differ across manufacturers; consult the instructions for your model in Phonak’s Auracast connection guide.

If you use hearing aids, check the exact model and app
Do not assume that every Bluetooth hearing aid can receive Auracast. Verify support for the specific hearing-aid model, then follow the manufacturer’s directions for its app, assistant, and any required firmware. Phonak and Oticon document app- or QR-assisted workflows, while other manufacturers may use different steps.
- Check the maker’s support page for the exact aid model and Auracast instructions.
- Install app or firmware updates if the manufacturer recommends them.
- Use the documented assistant or QR workflow rather than assuming the phone’s standard Bluetooth screen can find the stream.

If the stream appears but joining fails
Keep the assistant, receiver, and broadcast source near one another while setting up, then retry using the documented broadcast-finding flow. If the stream is listed but will not join, note the details below before contacting the device maker or venue. Support instructions are device- and workflow-specific; there is no single fix established for every failure.
- Phone or assistant model and operating-system version
- Receiver model and firmware version
- App name and version, if an app is involved
- Broadcast name and the exact message shown when joining fails

What to verify before choosing or buying a receiver
Use these checks to identify which part of the setup may be incompatible. A compatible receiver alone is not enough if the assistant or the phone-and-receiver combination does not support the required workflow.
