StartAllBack is a Windows shell customization app for people who want to change parts of the Start menu, taskbar, File Explorer, Control Panel, and context menus. It may help if the taskbar feels “too big and prominent,” the Start menu “shows me things I don’t want,” or familiar controls take “extra clicks”—phrases used by the first-person author of the syndicated article, not findings from a reader survey. The headline’s $5 is not confirmed as the app’s current checkout price.

StartAllBack’s feature list describes changes to several parts of the Windows shell. These are vendor-listed capabilities, not independently verified results:

The value depends on the particular control or appearance you want to change. A shell customization app is not a universal fix for Windows 11, and the available account of the author’s experience does not identify the exact settings they changed.
Check your Windows version before installing
Compatibility can change when Windows updates modify shell components. StartAllBack’s official page lists version 3.9.27, dated 24 September 2026, and says that release fixes dark mode broken with 26H2 features. The changelog also includes fixes for earlier Windows updates. That release history is a reason to check the current version and compatibility notes for your Windows build before installing or updating—not a guarantee that every build or configuration will work.

- Read the release notes before installing or updating, especially after a major Windows update.
What the $5 headline does—and doesn’t—tell you
The syndicated article’s headline calls StartAllBack a $5 app, but that figure has not been verified as the current checkout price. Current regional pricing, license duration, and trial terms are also not established here. Check the purchase page for the terms that apply to your location before buying.
How to decide whether it fits
Start with the specific annoyance rather than assuming you need a broad Windows fix. Before paying, check whether Windows already has a setting for the change you want. Then confirm that StartAllBack supports your build, verify the price and license terms at checkout, and consider how readily you can undo the customization if you dislike it or an update causes problems.

If your goal is to adjust the taskbar, Start menu, Explorer, Control Panel, or context menus, StartAllBack’s stated scope may be relevant. If the change you want is outside those areas—or you need a guaranteed fix for a particular Windows build—the available information does not establish that the app will solve it.
