Which Weapons Are Worth Amplifying in ARC Raiders? A Role-Based Guide

ARC Raiders amplification is a fifth-tier, branching upgrade—not an automatic damage win. Learn when the Burletta, Renegade or Rattler branches are worth the permanent cost.

There is no evidence-backed universal best Amplified Weapon in ARC Raiders. The sensible choice is the weapon you already use, provided its amplification branch solves a specific problem in your loadout. As of October 14, 2026, Embark’s confirmed examples are a fully automatic Burletta, a scoped Renegade, and a Rattler with incendiary ammunition and a 64-round magazine. Each changes how the gun is used rather than simply adding a guaranteed damage advantage.

Choose after deciding whether the gun is for fighting other Raiders, dealing with ARC machines, or correcting a handling, range, ammunition, or magazine limitation. Embark describes amplification as a way to create more viable choices, not as a straight upgrade that makes already dominant weapons unbeatable.

The direct answer: amplify for a role, not a tier list

Amplification is worth spending resources on when the branch changes a weapon into something your squad actually needs. A pistol that becomes automatic may cover a close-range backup role; a scope may make a lever-action rifle useful at a different distance; incendiary rounds or a much larger magazine may solve a sustained-fire problem. None of those examples has been established as the strongest option in every match.

Weapon Confirmed branch example Consider it when… What has not been established
Burletta Fully automatic firing You want a fast-firing pistol for close engagements or a flexible secondary. No current comparative test proves the automatic branch is the best pistol choice.
Renegade Scope You want a lever-action battle rifle to serve a more deliberate, longer-range role. No evidence proves the scoped branch has the highest overall win rate or damage output.
Rattler Incendiary bullets and a 64-round magazine You value burn pressure, fewer reloads, or sustained fire against your intended target. The sources do not establish whether either feature is currently optimal in PvP or against ARC.
Other eligible weapons Branch shown in the live in-game tree The branch fixes a clear weakness in your preferred build. The announced launch material does not provide a complete, tested ranking.

If you cannot name the problem the branch fixes, keep the weapon at its current tier and save the module and research materials. Amplification choices are reported as permanent, so experimenting casually can leave you with a configuration that does not fit your playstyle.

What Amplified Weapons change

Embark’s September 23, 2026 preview describes amplification as a fifth quality level unlocked through a fully upgraded Research Workstation in the Outpost. The system gives a range of guns branching abilities or enhancements that can substantially alter behavior. The launch scope was 15 weapons, with more planned; that number is the initial set, not a lifetime limit.

The October 8, 2026 Frozen Trail patch notes list Amplified Weapons and the Outpost Research Bench among the update’s new features. Embark’s launch announcement connects establishing the Outpost with access to the fifth tier and its special abilities. In practice, you are not merely adding a small statistical increment: you are selecting a branch that can change firing mode, sight picture, ammunition behavior, or magazine capacity.

That distinction matters when comparing weapons. A branch can be valuable because it opens a new engagement pattern even if it does not produce the largest number on a damage chart. Executive producer Aleksander Grøndal said the goal was to give players “other weapons that can perform well” and “other choices to have in PvP,” rather than simply increasing the output of the weapons already at the top. He also described the possibility of trade-offs between usefulness against Raiders and usefulness against ARC.

The three officially illustrated choices

Burletta: choose the automatic path for close-range flexibility

The confirmed Burletta example changes the pistol to fully automatic fire. That is a meaningful role change: instead of treating the weapon only as a precision sidearm, you can evaluate it as a rapid-response option when an opponent closes distance or when your primary weapon needs a reload.

It introduces powerful new features such as gyro settings, stick curve adjustments, and button-to-mouse mapping, giving you deeper customization and more control than ever before.

Automatic fire also creates questions you should answer in the firing range or in low-risk matches. Can you control the added rate of fire? Does the branch consume ammunition faster than your normal scavenging route supports? Does the magazine or recoil pattern make short bursts more practical than holding the trigger? The official announcement confirms the behavior change, but it does not provide a current damage, recoil, or efficiency comparison. Amplify it when automatic backup fire is a deliberate part of your loadout, not because “automatic” is automatically superior.

Renegade: choose the scope for a different engagement distance

The Renegade is presented as a lever-action battle rifle, and the official amplification example adds a scope. That branch is attractive if your squad needs a more deliberate sight picture for watching lanes, opening an encounter, or taking controlled shots from outside typical close-range fights.

A scope can be a liability in cramped interiors or during frantic movement. Before committing, decide whether your routes and team responsibilities give you time to aim. If your Renegade is already used as a mobile, hip-fire or short-aim weapon, the scoped branch may solve a problem you do not have. The evidence confirms the scope as an available behavior, not as a universal upgrade or a guarantee of better performance.

Rattler: choose incendiary ammunition or capacity for a specific sustainment need

The Rattler example combines incendiary bullets with a 64-round magazine. Those features address different needs. Incendiary ammunition may provide pressure through burn effects, while 64 rounds can reduce reload interruptions during a prolonged fight or a wave of targets.

  • Plug and Play Convenience: Wired USB connection (removable) for easy setup and instant play without the need for additional drivers.
  • Customizable experience: Includes 2 custom backbuttons that allow users to eliminate false triggers and improve their gaming experience.
  • Impressive gameplay: Provides a pulsating vibration trigger and an asymmetric vibration grip motor for intense tactile feedback.

Evaluate the two benefits separately in your intended role. Against Raiders, ask whether the burn effect changes an opponent’s movement or forces them out of cover. Against ARC, check the ammunition interaction with the armor you expect to face; ammo type is one of the variables that affects armor penetration. A large magazine is useful only if the weapon remains controllable and you can carry enough ammunition to exploit it. The available evidence does not establish which Rattler behavior wins more fights under the current balance.

Use two tests before selecting any branch

Test one: identify the target

Write down whether the weapon’s primary job is PvP against other Raiders, PvE against ARC, or a mix. The same change can have different value in those situations. A magazine that helps maintain fire on a machine may be less important in a short Raider duel. An ammunition effect that pressures a player may interact differently with ARC armor. Embark has explicitly framed amplification around these kinds of trade-offs.

Test two: identify the behavior you want to change

Class descriptions provide broad roles—such as controlled-burst rifles or close-range shotguns—but they are not proof of a current winner. Start with your actual limitation:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Firing mode: You need faster follow-up shots or a close-range emergency option.
  • Range and sight picture: You need to hold a lane or make deliberate shots at a greater distance.
  • Ammunition effect: You want a different interaction with Raiders or ARC armor.
  • Sustainment: You lose fights while reloading and can reliably supply the larger magazine.
  • Handling: You can accept a branch’s movement, recoil, or aiming demands because it suits your practiced technique.

If a branch does not address one of these concrete requirements, its opportunity cost is difficult to justify.

Progression requirements and the permanent-choice warning

A secondary guide updated October 11, 2026 reports a more demanding unlock path: an established Outpost, Gunsmith and Research Station at level IV, a tier-IV weapon, and an Amplification Module matching the weapon’s rarity. It also reports additional research and material costs for individual nodes and says the selected amplification cannot be reverted.

Those detailed requirements are guide-reported rather than a complete cost table in Embark’s official notes. Patch versions can change them, so use the live in-game requirements as the authority before spending anything. The official material confirms the broad relationship between the Outpost and the Research Workstation, but it does not publish every material quantity or node price.

How to make an amplification decision in game

  1. Establish and inspect the Outpost. Open the Research Workstation or Research Bench and confirm that the amplification feature is available on your account.
  2. Check the prerequisite buildings. If the current game shows the guide-reported path, bring the Gunsmith and Research Station to level IV before planning the weapon upgrade.
  3. Select a tier-IV weapon you actually use. Do not spend a matched module on a gun you only intend to test once.
  4. Verify the module match. The reported requirement is an Amplification Module corresponding to the weapon’s rarity. Confirm the exact rarity and quantity in the live interface.
  5. Read every branch node. Record what changes—firing mode, scope, ammunition, magazine, or another behavior—and note any stated trade-off before confirming.
  6. Compare the branch with your target. Decide whether the change improves Raider fights, ARC encounters, or a defined handling problem. Consider ammunition availability and the rest of your loadout.
  7. Confirm only after testing the base weapon. Practice the unamplified gun enough to know that the weapon itself fits your habits; otherwise you may blame the branch for a mismatch that was already present.
  8. Accept the permanent commitment. If the live game still treats amplification as irreversible, choose the branch as a long-term configuration rather than a temporary experiment.

How to compare PvP and ARC value

For PvP, prioritize the time and distance at which your squad normally takes fights. Automatic fire can help when an opponent enters your immediate space; a scope can help when you control a sightline; a large magazine can reduce the chance that a reload decides a duel. Those are decision criteria, not measured claims that one branch wins more often.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For ARC encounters, examine ammunition and armor interactions first. Weapon class alone does not tell you whether a gun will handle a particular machine efficiently. If the branch changes ammunition, check the current armor-penetration information in the game and make sure the effect is relevant to the ARC targets you actually meet. Capacity and reload timing matter more in sustained engagements than in a single controlled shot, but only if you can carry sufficient ammunition and maintain accuracy.

  • Mechanical Circular D-pad: Designed for quick reactions and accuracy in every direction, this D-pad elevates your gaming experience with superior responsiveness.

For a mixed role, decide which situation is responsible for most of your failed runs. A branch that is excellent against ARC but awkward in Raider fights may still be correct for a PvE-focused route; the reverse is also true. Embark’s stated aim is variety, so a specialized weapon can be a successful choice even when it is not the best all-purpose option.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Chasing an assumed meta: No controlled, current ranking of all amplified weapons or branches is established in the available material.
  • Treating the fifth tier as pure damage: The named examples primarily alter behavior, and Embark says the system is not intended merely to add output power to top-end weapons.
  • Spending before checking permanence: A reportedly irreversible choice deserves a loadout plan and practice first.
  • Ignoring ammunition logistics: Incendiary or armor-relevant ammunition is useful only when you can obtain and carry enough of it.
  • Assuming an incomplete list is comprehensive: A current third-party guide says some upgrade information was still being filled in. Use the live weapon tree for weapons and costs not explicitly confirmed by Embark.
  • Confusing a new role with a stronger old role: A scoped rifle or automatic pistol may be better for a different job while being worse for the way you previously used it.

When to revisit your choice

Amplification recommendations should move with balance patches and with your own squad’s habits. Recheck the in-game tree after updates, especially if Embark adds weapons beyond the initial 15 or changes ammunition, armor, recoil, or magazine behavior. Keep notes on which encounters the branch improves and which it makes harder. That is more reliable than copying a static ranking whose test conditions and patch version are unknown.

Until controlled, current comparisons are available, the defensible verdict is conditional: amplify the Burletta for a genuine automatic-pistol role, the Renegade for a genuine scoped battle-rifle role, the Rattler when incendiary pressure or 64-round capacity solves a real problem, and any other weapon only when its live branch clearly supports your target, resources, and practiced playstyle.
