Sony announced on October 1, 2026, that patches adding QSSR as an extra graphics option were rolling out for both titles. For any other game, check its latest patch notes and graphics settings: QSSR support is added title by title, not enabled by a single system-wide toggle.
Which PS5 games support QSSR?
Sony’s October 1, 2026 announcement named these two launch titles and said each was being patched that day to add QSSR as an additional graphics option:

These are the first games Sony confirmed, not a complete compatibility list. Sony said QSSR would be offered broadly to PlayStation developers, but did not publish a full list of future games or a schedule for additional releases. How do I check if a PS5 game has QSSR?
- Check the game’s current patch notes or update information. Look for an explicit reference to QSSR; general PS5 enhancements alone do not confirm support.
- Install the latest update for the PS5 version. Sony describes QSSR as an option individual patched games can add.
- Open the game’s graphics or display settings. Look for a QSSR option among the available graphics modes.
- Verify the edition and installed update. Make sure you are checking the PS5 version and that the relevant patch is installed.
Sony’s announcement does not describe a system-level QSSR switch or a centralized, exhaustive compatibility list. If the game’s current patch notes and settings do not mention QSSR, support is not established; do not infer it from another game’s options.

What does QSSR do?
QSSR stands for Quick Spectral Super Resolution. Sony describes it as a performance tier of AI upscaling derived from its PSSR work, using a streamlined neural-network architecture and an implementation tuned for PS5. Sony says QSSR improves image detail and stability on PS5, while describing PSSR as the higher-end tier on PS5 Pro. These are Sony’s qualitative descriptions, not independently measured results. Does QSSR guarantee a particular resolution or frame rate?
No specific resolution target, frame-rate gain, or percentage improvement is stated in Sony’s announcement. The effect and available trade-offs may depend on the game. To understand what a QSSR option changes in a particular title, consult that game’s own settings and patch notes rather than assuming the same result across games.

Sony’s announcement provides no QSSR-specific benchmark or measured performance figure, so claims of a particular percentage boost are not supported by that announcement.
