Several over-ear headphones can outlast Bose models, but the advantage depends on the specific headphones and how battery life is measured. The clearest comparisons favor the Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 Wireless, JBL Tour ONE M3, Sony WH-1000XM6 and Nothing Headphone (1). Cambridge Audio’s Melomania P100 is another candidate, though the available comparison does not provide a precise, like-for-like runtime.
How to read these battery-life comparisons
Battery figures are not interchangeable. ANC status, listening volume, codec, audio source and test protocol can all affect playback time. A manufacturer estimate, a standardized lab measurement and a reviewer’s comparison may therefore produce different numbers for the same headphones.

The figures below retain the source and comparison context. In particular, SoundGuys’ measurements are continuous-playback test results, not a guarantee of how long a listener’s headphones will last in everyday use. Its JBL result specifically states that ANC was enabled and playback was set to 75 dB SPL.

Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 Wireless
The MOMENTUM 4 has the strongest direct comparison in the available figures. RTINGS’ comparison, updated August 6, 2026, lists 62 hours for the Sennheiser and 37 hours for Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen). Those are the figures in RTINGS’ comparison, not a claim that every Sennheiser lasts longer than every Bose model. See RTINGS’ MOMENTUM 4 versus QuietComfort Ultra (2nd Gen) comparison.

- Dual-Connections: Connect to two devices simultaneously with Bluetooth 5.0 and instantly switch between them. Whether you're working on your laptop, or need to take a phone call, audio from your Bluetooth headphones will automatically play from the device you need to hear from.
- App for EQ Customization: Download the soundcore app to tailor your sound using the customizable EQ, with 22 presets, or adjust it yourself. You can also switch between 3 modes: ANC, Normal, and Transparency, and relax with white noise.
A separate SoundGuys test table reports 56 hours 21 minutes for MOMENTUM 4 Wireless and 27 hours 37 minutes for the original Bose QuietComfort Ultra. This is a different comparison, involving the first-generation Bose model, so it should not be combined with RTINGS’ newer-model figures.
Battery is not the only trade-off: RTINGS says Bose provides better noise isolation and microphone performance, while Sennheiser offers more comprehensive EQ. Choose the MOMENTUM 4 if long playback and sound customization matter most; Bose may be the better fit if isolation or call performance is a priority.

JBL Tour ONE M3
SoundGuys measured the Tour ONE M3 at 55 hours 37 minutes with ANC enabled at 75 dB SPL. That is a strong measured runtime, but the cited figure does not establish a direct, same-test comparison against a particular Bose model. It is best treated as evidence that this JBL model can run for a long time under the stated test conditions, not as a universal margin over Bose.

Sony WH-1000XM6
SoundGuys’ standardized battery test measured 37 hours 14 minutes for the WH-1000XM6 and 27 hours 37 minutes for the original Bose QuietComfort Ultra. This same-table result supports a longer runtime for the Sony in that test, but it is not a comparison with Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen).
What Hi-Fi? cites around 30 hours with ANC on for both the Sony WH-1000XM6 and Bose QuietComfort Ultra (2nd Gen). That review-level comparison uses a different Bose generation and does not establish a common-lab head-to-head measurement. The Sony’s advantage is therefore clearest against the original Bose model in SoundGuys’ test, rather than across Bose headphones as a whole. Read SoundGuys’ WH-1000XM6 review.

Nothing Headphone (1)
What Hi-Fi?’s January 23, 2026 review reports around 35 hours with ANC on and 80 hours with ANC off for Nothing Headphone (1). In the same review, Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) is cited at around 30 hours with ANC on. This is a review comparison, not a verified common-lab test, and the 80-hour figure applies with ANC off rather than the ANC-on comparison.

Cambridge Audio Melomania P100
TechRadar names Cambridge Audio Melomania P100 as a long-runtime option, saying it can roughly double the runtime of the Sony WH-1000XM6 or Bose QuietComfort Ultra. The reviewed passage does not give an exact number of hours or a common test protocol, so it does not support a precise, apples-to-apples claim. Treat it as a model worth checking if battery life is a priority, rather than a verified numerical winner over Bose. Read TechRadar’s Sony-versus-Bose comparison.

A longer-lasting battery can reduce charging interruptions, but it does not determine which headphones are best for you. Before choosing a model, consider:
Quick Recap
- Noise isolation: RTINGS favors Bose over MOMENTUM 4 for noise isolation. The longer-runtime Sennheiser is not automatically the better choice for noisy commutes or travel.
- Calls: RTINGS also rates Bose ahead of MOMENTUM 4 for microphone performance, which matters for frequent meetings and phone calls.
- Sound adjustment: RTINGS says MOMENTUM 4 has more comprehensive EQ than Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen), useful if you want more control over the sound.
- ANC-on versus ANC-off use: Nothing’s reported runtime changes from around 35 hours with ANC on to 80 hours with it off. Compare figures under the setting you actually use.
- Your listening conditions: Volume, codec, source and test method affect battery life, so independent test figures should be treated as comparison evidence rather than a personal-use promise.
How to choose among these models
- For the clearest longer-runtime comparison with Bose: Start with Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 Wireless, keeping RTINGS’ 62-versus-37-hour comparison tied to QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) and its separate SoundGuys result tied to the original QuietComfort Ultra.
- For a long ANC-on test result: Consider JBL Tour ONE M3; SoundGuys specifies 55 hours 37 minutes with ANC on at 75 dB SPL, but does not establish a matching Bose comparison for that figure.
- For Sony versus the original Bose Ultra: Use SoundGuys’ same-table measurements of 37 hours 14 minutes for WH-1000XM6 and 27 hours 37 minutes for the original QuietComfort Ultra.
- For a Nothing option: Use What Hi-Fi?’s around-35-hour ANC-on and 80-hour ANC-off review figures, and compare the ANC-on figure only as a review-level comparison with the around-30-hour second-generation Bose figure.
- For Cambridge Audio: Check the Melomania P100’s current model-specific battery specifications before relying on TechRadar’s qualitative statement; the cited passage does not establish exact hours or comparable test conditions.
