Newzoo’s August 2026 PC and console revenue rankings featured both established game ecosystems and new releases. Madden NFL 27 ranked #2 on console, Star Wars Zero Company reached #6 on PC despite arriving in the final five days of the month, and original co-op game Big Walk placed #3 on PC. These are chart positions—not sales counts or disclosed revenue totals.
What the August 2026 charts show
Newzoo’s August 2026 PC & console rankings, published September 28, 2026, are market estimates powered by its Game Performance Monitor. They report relative positions on PC and console revenue charts, not exact revenue, unit sales, or a combined market total.
The broad pattern in Newzoo’s analysis is that revenue positions were supported by established franchises, expansion content, and live-service ecosystems. Partnerships, media tie-ins, and platform initiatives were more evident in expanding reach and engagement. New entries still made notable chart appearances, though: the rankings show how those releases performed relative to other titles, not how much money they earned.
Which new games ranked highest?
| Game | August 2026 chart placement | What Newzoo highlights |
|---|---|---|
| Madden NFL 27 | #2 on console | Newzoo connects its placement to the strength of the annual franchise. |
| Big Walk | #3 on PC | An original-concept multiplayer co-op adventure built around social cooperation and shared exploration. |
| Star Wars Zero Company | #6 on PC | It arrived in the final five days of August; Newzoo points to its prominent IP, strong reviews, and positive word of mouth. |
The rankings do not establish comparable sales or revenue amounts for these releases. The positions identify where each game placed on its respective chart.

What the rankings do—and don’t—tell you
- They show relative chart placement. A #2 or #7 position is not a sales count, dollar amount, or percentage.
- PC and console are separate scopes. A placement on one chart should not be treated as a combined cross-platform rank.
- They highlight different sources of strength. Franchise familiarity, expansions, and ongoing live-service ecosystems featured among revenue leaders, while Big Walk showed that an original concept could also place highly.
- They do not provide a market-wide revenue figure. Newzoo’s article reports placements and movement, not an aggregate total or revenue share.
