Neither Elyos nor Asmodians is established as the objectively best faction in Aion 2. For global launch, NCSOFT says you choose a region, then a faction, then a server. Since each server houses only one faction, coordinate with friends first; otherwise, choose the side whose setting appeals to you. The official information cited here does not establish a faction advantage in population, power, or progression.
Which faction is best in Aion 2?
There is no evidence-based universal winner. NCSOFT’s official announcements describe different faction territories and PvP matchmaking rules, but do not show that Elyos or Asmodians have better stats, stronger combat performance, faster progression, or a larger current population.

The practical choice is usually social: pick the faction and server where your friends will play. If you are choosing on your own, decide based on the faction identity and starting region you prefer rather than an unsupported claim that one side is stronger.
What changes when you choose Elyos or Asmodians?
Starting territory and setting
The factions begin in separate regions. NCSOFT’s June 2026 roadmap identifies Eltnen as Elyos territory and Morheim as Asmodian territory. These give the factions distinct settings and journeys; the cited announcements do not establish a lasting combat or progression benefit for either starting territory. NCSOFT’s 2025 overview and its June 2026 update provide the relevant setting details.

Server and social home
NCSOFT’s October 5, 2026 global-launch notice says each server houses only one faction. Its character-creation sequence is region, faction, then a server selected from those available. That makes faction a decision to coordinate with friends before settling on a server. Server listings can change, so check the current official server and matchmaking notice when creating characters.
Cross-faction PvP
Elyos and Asmodians can meet in shared cross-faction spaces, including the Abyss and Spacetime Rifts. In the launch notice, NCSOFT describes limited-time pairings between an Elyos server and an Asmodian counterpart; opponents in these modes come from the matched server. This is not the same as both factions sharing a server.

Can Elyos and Asmodians play together?
They can encounter one another in the cross-faction modes NCSOFT describes, but the cited launch notice says a server contains only one faction. It does not establish that characters from opposing factions can join the same faction-based server or form ordinary same-side groups together. Check the current game rules and server notice for any changes to those arrangements.
Does faction affect class or stats?
The official material cited here does not establish a current faction-specific stat advantage, nor does it confirm complete class availability parity between the two factions. NCSOFT’s June 2025 overview listed eight classes at that time—Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Marksman, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster, Cleric, and Chanter—but that dated list is not a guarantee of the current roster or proof that every class is available to both factions. Consult the current character-creation information before choosing if a particular class is essential to your plan.

Likewise, the announcements provide no current faction population figures, win rates, or evidence that one side progresses faster. They do not support picking a faction on any of those grounds.

Not every PvP encounter is simply Elyos versus Asmodians. In NCSOFT’s March 25, 2026 description, Chaotic Abyss divides players into West and East forces at the server level regardless of race alignment, while Spacetime Rift continues to use race-based matchmaking. Because the modes use different rules—and game systems can change—check the March 2026 update and newer patch notes for the version you play.

Should I choose Elyos or Asmodians?
- If you are playing with friends: Agree on a faction and then use the official notice to choose an available server together. Each server is faction-specific.
- If setting matters most: Choose the territory and faction presentation you find more appealing: Eltnen is Elyos territory and Morheim is Asmodian territory in NCSOFT’s June 2026 roadmap.
- If you mainly care about PvP: Decide which mode matters to you. Cross-faction spaces use paired servers in the launch notice, while Chaotic Abyss and Spacetime Rift use different alignment rules in NCSOFT’s March 2026 description.
- If you are choosing for a class or advantage: Verify current class access in character creation. The cited official announcements do not establish a faction-based stat, power, or progression edge.
