There is no universally best DroidDeck frame-generation preset. Start with LSFG at 2×, choose an output target your display supports, and judge the result by responsiveness and frame pacing—not the generated FPS number alone. This 2× starting point is practical tuning advice, not a DroidDeck-tested universal preset.
Choose a frame-generation path
DroidDeck documents two options: built-in Win-FG and optional LSFG. LSFG uses shaders from your own copy of Lossless Scaling; DroidDeck says it does not ship those shaders. The project does not publish comparative testing that establishes one path as best across games and devices. See the DroidDeck project page for its current description.
If you already have the required Lossless Scaling shaders, LSFG offers documented 2×–4× multipliers. Otherwise, use the built-in Win-FG option if it is available for your setup.
Find an LSFG multiplier and target
Start at 2×, then test higher multipliers
Use 2× as a cautious starting point. If motion looks uneven or controls feel less responsive, try a different setting rather than assuming that a higher multiplier will help. Move to 3× or 4× only if the game remains responsive and frame pacing looks good on your device. DroidDeck’s release information lists LSFG multipliers of 2×–4× and targets of 60, 90, and 120 fps; it does not identify a best combination for particular games. Check the release information for the options documented there.

Set the target around your display and game
Choose among 60, 90, or 120 fps only when your panel supports the target and the game can provide a consistent base experience. A higher generated output number does not guarantee smoother play: assess whether movement appears even and inputs still feel timely. If either worsens, lower the target or multiplier and compare again.
Reduce rendering load when the GPU is the bottleneck
Frame generation is only one part of the tuning picture. DroidDeck’s optimization guide suggests rendering internally at 720p or 900p, then using Gamescope to scale to a 1080p or 1440p display. This is an option to test when GPU load is limiting performance, not a requirement for frame generation. The guide claims this resolution-scaling setup can reduce GPU power draw by “up to 40%”; that is a publisher-reported claim, not an independently verified result for every device or game. Check compatibility before tuning
DroidDeck’s repository lists Android 9 or newer and a supported Adreno GPU as requirements: Adreno 730 or newer, or Adreno 8xx. It identifies Mali, Xclipse, PowerVR, and Adreno 710 as unsupported; DroidDeck’s FAQ also identifies Google Tensor as unsupported. Consult the compatibility list and FAQ for current details before troubleshooting settings. Compatibility and performance vary by device, and the project says hardware validation is limited.
DroidDeck runs games on the handheld rather than streaming them from a host PC. Its FAQ describes an in-app Vulkan compositor in a proot Linux environment, with Windows titles launched through Valve’s ARM64 Proton and FEX-Emu. That setup makes device hardware and sustained performance relevant to how a setting feels.

Account for drivers and sustained heat
Use driver recommendations as game-specific starting points
The DroidDeck optimization guide lists Turnip v24.2.0 as a general-purpose recommendation, v24.3.0-devel for DX11/DXVK-heavy titles, and Turnip KGSL Stable for Bethesda-engine games. These are the guide’s recommendations, not a guarantee that a version will be best on every device. Driver versions change, so verify the options currently available in DroidDeck rather than treating those version numbers as timeless defaults.
Watch heat during long sessions
On passively cooled phones, the guide recommends capping a game at 60 fps to avoid unnecessary heat. For demanding 3D games played for more than an hour, it suggests that users may consider a magnetic semiconductor phone cooler. Neither measure is a frame-generation requirement, and the guide does not establish that a cooler improves frame generation itself.

How to interpret the published performance figures
The DroidDeck Guide reports results from an Ayn Odin 2 Pro with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, comparing stock settings with its recommended optimized setup. These are publisher-reported figures; the guide does not isolate frame generation as their cause, and they should not be treated as expected results for other games or devices.
