If by “scheduled stream breaks” you mean YouTube Live mid-roll ad breaks, YouTube Studio, StreamYard, and Restream document controls for eligible, monetized channels. YouTube Studio lets you choose set intervals; StreamYard and Restream offer broad ad-frequency choices, not a guaranteed break at a precise time. Streamlabs Talk Studio documents scheduling a broadcast, but its reviewed guide does not document mid-roll ad controls.
What “scheduled stream breaks” means
This comparison uses “stream breaks” to mean mid-roll ads during a YouTube Live broadcast—not scheduling the broadcast to start later. A scheduled event time and a scheduled ad interval are separate features. The services below may help schedule an event, but that alone does not show that they can schedule ad breaks.

Ad controls also depend on YouTube monetization eligibility and activation. A third-party streaming service cannot make an ineligible channel eligible. See YouTube’s live-stream monetization guidance for the platform’s requirements and settings.
Which services document YouTube live ad-break controls?
| Service | YouTube event scheduling | Live ad-break control documented? | Control described | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube Studio | Yes | Yes | Automatic ads, scheduled intervals of 6, 12, 18, 24, or 30 minutes, or manual insertion | Channel monetization and live-stream monetization must be enabled. |
| StreamYard | Yes | Yes | Conservative, Balanced, or Aggressive ad-frequency choice | Eligibility is required; the frequency setting is not documented as an exact interval. |
| Restream | Yes | Yes | Conservative, Balanced, or Aggressive mid-roll frequency for Studio, RTMP, or a scheduled event | YouTube determines exact placement and ad format. |
| Streamlabs Talk Studio | Yes | Not established by the reviewed guide | The guide covers destination, date, and time scheduling, not YouTube mid-roll controls. | Do not infer ad-break support from its event-scheduling feature. |
YouTube Studio: choose intervals or insert ads manually
YouTube’s native controls are the clearest documented option when you want to choose an interval. In the Scheduled setting, the interval choices are 6, 12, 18, 24, or 30 minutes. You can also use automatic ads or insert ads manually while live. These options are subject to channel eligibility and monetization settings, and an interval choice should not be read as a guarantee that an ad will be delivered at a particular moment.

StreamYard: frequency profiles for eligible channels
StreamYard documents a YouTube Live Ads frequency dropdown with Conservative, Balanced, and Aggressive options. Its help page says the feature is available on all StreamYard plans, but the channel must be eligible for YouTube monetization. The choices describe frequency preferences; StreamYard’s cited guidance does not specify an exact interval for each one.

Restream documents Conservative, Balanced, and Aggressive mid-roll frequency choices for eligible channels using Studio, RTMP, or a scheduled event. Its guidance explicitly says YouTube decides the exact placement and format. Choose a frequency profile if you want to express a preference; do not treat it as a fixed-minute schedule or a promise that an ad will appear at an exact point.

Restream also documents YouTube event scheduling. See its pages on monetizing YouTube streams and creating a YouTube Live event for the current workflow.
Streamlabs Talk Studio: event scheduling is not proof of ad scheduling
Streamlabs Talk Studio’s reviewed support guide explains how to schedule YouTube broadcasts, including a scheduling window of up to 50 days. That figure concerns how far ahead an event can be scheduled, not the timing of mid-roll ads. The guide does not document scheduled YouTube ad-break controls, so its scheduling feature is not enough to recommend it for this specific need. See Talk Studio Broadcast Scheduling.

How to choose the right control
- You need a selectable interval: Use YouTube Studio’s Scheduled option, which documents choices from 6 to 30 minutes in the listed increments.
- You prefer a broad frequency setting in a cloud studio: StreamYard and Restream document three qualitative choices. Neither source establishes their minute-by-minute mapping.
- You need the event to start later: Check the service’s event-scheduling instructions separately. An event start time does not configure mid-roll breaks.
- Your channel is not eligible or monetization is off: Resolve that with YouTube first; selecting a third-party ad-frequency option does not bypass YouTube’s requirements.
- You need manual control: YouTube documents manual ad insertion while live. Check YouTube’s current guidance for the controls available in your workflow.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is a continuous prerecorded YouTube stream rather than scheduled ad breaks within a conventional broadcast, StreamNeo is a separate option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It keeps the uploaded video looping from the cloud; it does not provide a camera-based live broadcast or replace YouTube’s monetization controls.
