How to play Sudoku in your browser
Classic Sudoku has a 9×9 grid divided into nine 3×3 boxes. Fill each empty cell with a digit from 1 to 9 so that every digit appears once in each row, column, and box. The digits are symbols; no arithmetic is required.

- Look for a row, column, or box that already has many numbers.
- Identify which digits are missing, then check each empty cell against its row, column, and 3×3 box.
- Enter a digit only when it fits without duplicating a number in any of those three groups. If several digits remain possible, use pencil notes if the site offers them.
- When stuck, use a hint if available. On inSudoku, the site describes hints as guided explanations of a logical step; ClearSudoku lists hints and note-taking tools.
Want to solve away from a screen?
Online play does not require a physical book.
