The thermistor’s location on a Samsung dryer depends on the exact model. Find the complete model code first, then use the matching Samsung repair guide or service support to confirm where the sensor is and how to reach it. A diagram or disassembly sequence for one Samsung dryer may not apply to another.
Find your dryer’s full model code first
Check the dryer’s model label and record the complete code, including any suffix after a slash. Use that code—not just “Samsung dryer”—when looking up documentation or asking about a replacement part.

Samsung’s U.S. dryer support page lets owners search by model code or product name and access manuals and repair-request options. Samsung model pages can also list repair guides and user manuals; for example, the Canadian page for model DVE45T6005W/AC lists model-specific documentation.

Where is the thermistor?
There is no single location or access route established for every Samsung dryer. A thermistor senses temperature, but the exact component placement and the panels or fasteners involved must be confirmed in documentation for your model.

How to confirm the right repair information
- Match the complete model code. Compare your label with the code shown on the Samsung support page or repair guide. Do not assume a guide for a similar-looking model applies.
- Open the model-specific documentation. Look for the repair guide or service information that explicitly covers your model. Confirm the thermistor’s location and access instructions there.
- Stop if the guide does not match. Do not infer panel-removal order, fastener locations, test values, or a replacement procedure from a different model. Use Samsung support or a qualified service provider for model-specific instructions.
- Verify any replacement part against the model. A “Samsung dryer thermistor” or temperature sensor is not automatically compatible just because it is branded for Samsung. Confirm compatibility in the parts documentation for your exact model before ordering.
Does an error code prove the thermistor has failed?
No. An error code can indicate a sensor-circuit reading outside the expected range without proving that the thermistor itself is the only faulty component. In a Samsung user-manual result for selected DVE models, tC5 is associated with thermistor 2 resistance being very low or high; the guidance says to contact a Samsung service center if the code remains. See the manual listing for DVE45A6400W/A3. Codes and diagnostic instructions can differ across models, so check the manual for your own dryer.
