On a Samsung Galaxy tablet using Samsung Keyboard, open any app and tap a text field to show the on-screen keyboard. Tap the clipboard icon in the keyboard toolbar, then tap the copied item you want to paste. If you do not see the icon, check the toolbar’s overflow controls.
Open the clipboard from Samsung Keyboard

When Samsung Keyboard appears, look along its toolbar for the clipboard icon. If it is not among the visible icons, open the toolbar’s additional-options or overflow controls and look there.

Tap the clipboard icon to view available copied items, then tap the text or image you want to insert.

Samsung describes copied or cut text and images as clipboard content. The clipboard is a software feature; you do not need a physical keyboard or other accessory to open it.
If the clipboard icon is missing
Check the keyboard toolbar
If the toolbar is present but the clipboard icon is not immediately visible, expand its additional-options area. Samsung’s toolbar troubleshooting guidance points to Settings > General management > Samsung Keyboard settings to enable the keyboard toolbar when it is disabled. That guidance is written for Samsung phones, so the exact labels or placement may differ on a tablet.

Search Settings if the labels differ
Samsung’s tablet guidance recommends searching Settings for Samsung Keyboard to find keyboard options. Menu names and screen layouts vary by Galaxy tablet and One UI version, so use Settings search if the path above does not match your screen.
Check which keyboard is active
These steps apply when Samsung Keyboard is the active on-screen keyboard. If you use a third-party keyboard, its toolbar and clipboard controls may work differently; consult that keyboard provider’s instructions or select Samsung Keyboard if it is available on your device. Samsung’s Japanese support guidance says clipboard use may be unavailable with third-party keyboards on Android 12 and later.

Keep clipboard items available
Clipboard contents are temporary, but Samsung’s Japanese support page describes pinning selected entries to preserve them. It reports that up to 20 items can be pinned, or up to 10 on Android 10 and earlier. The count is specific to that guidance and should not be treated as a universal limit for every Galaxy tablet or software version.

Samsung documents cross-device clipboard sharing separately from opening the local clipboard. On supported devices running One UI 3.1 or later, its guidance calls for the same Samsung account and Wi-Fi on both devices, Bluetooth enabled, and Continue on other devices turned on for each. This is optional and not needed to paste an item on the tablet itself.
