Vizio HDMI ports can be on the side, on the back, or split between both locations—the layout depends on the TV model. Look for sockets labeled HDMI, sometimes followed by a number, and check your exact model’s manual or Vizio support page if you cannot find them.
Where to look for HDMI ports
Check the TV’s side edge for a side-facing input panel, then inspect the rear connection panel. Some Vizio TVs put all HDMI inputs in one place; others divide them between the side and rear. Vizio’s D32hn-D1 manual notes that “The actual number of ports and their locations may vary, depending on the model.”

When you find the connection panel, use the HDMI label to identify the port. Inputs may also be numbered, such as HDMI 1 or HDMI 2. Do not identify a port by position alone: locations and counts differ across Vizio models.

How to find the right diagram for your TV
- Find the full model number. Check the TV’s label or its documentation; do not rely on the screen size or series name alone.
- Look up that exact model on Vizio Support. Use Vizio’s User Manuals resource or the model-information page. Vizio’s support pages provide model-specific information and manual links.
- Use the manual’s connection diagram. Confirm the HDMI locations and count for your TV rather than assuming another model’s layout applies.
After you connect a device
Connect the source device to an HDMI input, then select the matching HDMI input from the TV’s input menu if necessary. On the D32hn-D1, Vizio’s manual identifies the TV’s Input control as the way to access that menu; controls and labels may differ on other models.
If you need a cable, choose one suitable for the device and the TV connection you intend to use. The cited Vizio manual explains that HDMI inputs connect HDMI devices, but it does not establish a universally suitable cable length or performance tier.

Check the port’s features on the exact model
Finding an HDMI socket does not establish that it supports ARC/eARC or a particular HDMI version. Those features vary by model. For example, Vizio’s M43Q6M-K04 support page identifies HDMI 2.1 and eARC for that model; check your own TV’s specifications before choosing a port for equipment that needs a particular feature.
