Streamlabs Desktop saves recordings to the folder shown under Settings > Output > Recording. That path is configurable, so there is no single default location that applies to every user. You can inspect or change it in the same section.
How to find your recording folder
- Open Streamlabs Desktop and select Settings.
- Select Output.
- Scroll to Recording and check the path shown there. To use a different destination, choose a new path in this section.
Streamlabs Support’s getting-started guide directs users to Settings, then Output, to check or change where recordings are saved. Streamlabs’ exact-topic guide gives the same route.
Open a recording right after you stop it
After stopping a recording, check the on-screen save confirmation. Streamlabs says it can provide information about the file or let you open it in another Streamlabs application. See the Streamlabs Support guide.
If a recording is missing
First confirm the path in Settings > Output > Recording, then check the folder itself. Streamlabs’ troubleshooting guidance recommends these checks; none is a guaranteed fix.

Choosing a different destination
Since the recording path is configurable, choose a folder or drive that has enough available space, allows Streamlabs Desktop to write to it, and is easy for you to find and manage. Streamlabs’ official guidance reviewed here does not name a universal default folder, so use the path displayed in your own app rather than assuming recordings are saved to a particular location.
