Submit classroom image jobs as a batch when the work can finish asynchronously and a teacher or student can wait for the results. Use a synchronous request when someone needs an answer during a live lesson. For either path, treat moderation output as a signal for your application’s safety process—not as a complete decision or child-safety system.
Choose the submission path by whether someone is waiting
OpenAI’s Batch API processes individual requests asynchronously. Its documentation gives a completion window of up to 24 hours, often faster, so a batch is suitable for a prepared queue that staff will review later—not for promising an immediate classroom response. The documented window is a service description, not a classroom performance benchmark. See the OpenAI Batch API guide.

| Classroom situation | Suitable path | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| A teacher has prepared a large set of image-generation or editing jobs for later review | Batch | Grouped asynchronous processing suits work that does not need an immediate answer. |
| A student is waiting for an image or moderation result during an active lesson | Synchronous request | A batch’s documented completion window cannot promise a live response. |
| Staff need to classify a collection of existing images | Batch moderation may fit | Moderation is a supported batch endpoint, and the Moderation API accepts image inputs. |
| A workflow involves known or suspected child sexual abuse material | Do not send it to the OpenAI Moderation API | OpenAI says the endpoint is not designed for CSAM detection or handling; use dedicated child-safety safeguards. |
The Batch API documentation lists image generation, image editing, and moderation among supported endpoints. Batch submissions are capped at 50,000 requests and an input file of 200 MB. These are documented service limits, not recommendations for how large a classroom queue should be.

Prepare a batch so results can be matched to classroom jobs
A batch input is a JSONL file: put one request on each line, give every request a unique custom_id, and target only one model per input file. The identifier lets your application reconcile returned results with the jobs that produced them. Keep a stable mapping between each custom_id and its originating classroom task.

- Document camera with Image reversal function: The image reversal function can be realized through the button (no need to pass the software). When video chatting or picture output, the picture can be freely reversed left and right, up and down; The PAKOTOO document camera connects the computer via USB 2.0 cable, it does not support zoom and HDMI features, nor it does compatible with iPad.
- Document camera for teachers with 3 levels of brightness adjustment and 10 levels of exposure adjustment: The brightness function can be realized by buttons to ensure that you can get clearer images. It can also realize the Selfie fill light function in dark and bright environments
- Document camera for classroom with Foldable: Embedded design, takes up little space after folding, and is easy to carry; multi-joint supports multi-angle free rotation, which can better capture 2D and 3D objects. Maximum coverage area: 16.5" x 11.6" in (A3 paper)
- USB document camera with autofocus: 2448P high-definition document cameras, press the focus (AF) button once, and the document camera will automatically focus once. Move the object under the lens, the image will not be blurred. Macro captures objects as small as 3.94"
- Important: PAKOTOO Document camera is not plug and play. You need to select "USB Camera" in the system that comes with your computer. The document camera is equipped with a USB-C cable, which can be directly used with devices with USB-C interface such as MacBook. Compatible with Windows PCS, Macs and Chromebooks, works with Tiktok, Google Meet, Skyp-Microsoft Teams, Zoom; If you encounter any problems during the use of the product, or the computer does not recognize the camera, please be sure to contact our friendly support team for a quick solution.
- Separate work that can wait. Build a queue for prepared generation, editing, or moderation tasks. Keep live lesson interactions on a synchronous path.
- Create one JSONL record per request. Give each record a unique identifier and ensure every request in that file targets the same model.
- Submit and track pending work. Show staff that jobs are pending rather than implying an immediate result. Design exception handling for delayed, failed, or otherwise unresolved jobs.
- Reconcile completed results. Use the stored identifier mapping to return each result to the correct classroom task.
- Route flagged or uncertain results according to school policy. Where policy calls for it, place them in a human review queue instead of treating a model score as the final decision.
The API documents the file structure and identifier requirements; pending-state design, reconciliation, and exception handling are application responsibilities.
Use moderation as one part of the safety workflow
The OpenAI Moderation API accepts text and image inputs and returns category flags and scores. Those outputs can help an application decide whether to allow, filter, or route content for further review. OpenAI’s guide says to use results to enforce the application’s policy, including filtering content, routing a request for review, or intervening with accounts that submit flagged content. The scores do not define a school’s policy for it.

Windows Recommended Requirements - Microsoft Windows 10,Intel Core i5 CPU 3.40 GHz or higher, 4 GB RAM, 200MB of free hard disk space, 256MB of dedicated video memory (For lag-free live streaming up to 1920 x 1080, and video recording of 1920 x 1080)
Choose local thresholds and escalation rules deliberately. A classifier can flag content that does not violate a school rule, or fail to resolve a case that needs human judgment. OpenAI also notes that moderation models can be upgraded; score-based policies may need recalibration as models or categories change. Keep an accountable review path for cases that school policy does not allow an automated signal to settle.

Do not use this endpoint for suspected CSAM
OpenAI explicitly states that its Moderation API is not designed for CSAM detection or handling and is not a substitute for dedicated child-safety safeguards. Do not route known or suspected CSAM to this endpoint. A school’s incident response should follow its dedicated child-safety procedures and applicable obligations.

Account for education and student privacy obligations
OpenAI’s published usage policies require human review for covered high-stakes decisions in education and restrict certain privacy-invasive uses. These provider policies do not determine every school’s legal duties. Requirements depend on the institution’s jurisdiction, agreements, data, and deployment, so establish school-specific rules for consent, retention, access, and escalation before processing classroom media.
For policy context, consult OpenAI’s Usage Policies alongside the institution’s own legal and contractual requirements. The cited policies do not establish a universal privacy or retention rule for all schools.
