Start with the items you need personally
Build your bag around essentials that matter to you and may be difficult to replace during the day. A practical adult starting point is a phone, a way to access payment or tickets, and any medication you need. These are personal suggestions, not items Disney requires guests to carry.

Keep the list short: a crossbody has limited space, and extra items add weight and make it harder to find what you need. Add family-care supplies only when they apply to your party.

Disney’s Walt Disney World family packing guide suggests the following for visits with children. Use it as a menu rather than a checklist; the guide does not say every visitor needs these items or that they will all fit in a crossbody.

Choose only the items that fit your plans and available space. For infants and young children at Walt Disney World, each theme park has a Baby Care Center with feeding areas, changing tables, and other essentials; some families may find that useful when deciding how much care equipment to carry. Check the bag rules for your destination
The Walt Disney World Resort rules page sets a maximum bag size of 24 inches long × 15 inches wide × 18 inches high for theme parks and water parks. Disneyland Resort lists the same maximum for its theme parks. These are the rules in the cited pages, not a statement about every Disney destination worldwide. Measure the bag as packed, rather than relying only on the product listing or its empty dimensions. The published maximum is a screening limit, not a recommended crossbody size: choose a bag that carries comfortably and leaves room for the items you selected.

Disney says, “All persons, bags, parcels, clothing and other items may be subject to screening/security checks.” Keep your belongings accessible enough to follow instructions at the entrance, and cooperate with any screening procedures.

Avoid restricted cooling and glass items
The cited Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort rules prohibit loose or dry ice in the relevant bags or coolers and recommend reusable ice packs instead. Walt Disney World also prohibits glass containers, with a small-container exception such as baby food jars. Because the rules differ by destination and item, confirm the applicable page before packing anything that could fall under a restriction.

- Put in personal essentials first. Add the items you need and cannot easily do without during the visit.
- Choose a few useful extras. Pick comfort items based on weather, plans, and family needs—not the full family-guide list by default.
- Check restrictions. Review your destination’s current park rules, especially for ice and containers.
- Measure and try the filled bag. Confirm it is within the published size limit and that the items are reachable and comfortable to carry.
