The US PlayStation Store lists the Standard Edition at $59.99 and Digital Deluxe at $69.99. If you preorder, the listed bonuses are early unlocks, not exclusive items: the game’s official listings say they can also be obtained through progression. The game has not launched yet, so buyers still lack release reviews and verified performance information.
What Phantom Blade Zero is
Phantom Blade Zero is a forthcoming single-player action RPG from S-GAME. Its official descriptions place it in a dark wuxia setting called the Wulin, or Phantom World, and use the studio’s “kungfupunk” label for its blend of martial-arts action, fantasy and folk-horror elements. Those descriptions explain the intended setting and tone; they are not independent assessments of how well the game delivers on them.

You play as Soul, a warrior framed for murdering his master. He has suffered a fatal wound and, according to the game’s premise, has just 66 days left to live. The official setup makes that countdown part of the story’s stakes, but the available listings do not establish how the time limit works during play or whether it affects the pace of exploration. Don’t assume it means you have only 66 real-world days, or that every optional activity must fit within a strict timer.

S-GAME and PlayStation describe combat, exploration, secrets and story paths as central features. The PlayStation Blog’s August 17, 2026 gameplay deep dive also discusses side quests, weapon upgrades, accessories, summons and ways to customize combat. These details suggest more than a sequence of fixed encounters, but they do not establish how long the game is, how much content is optional, or how builds compare in practice.

- Model Number CFI-2000
- Includes DualSense Wireless Controller, 1TB SSD, 2 Horizontal Stand Feet, HDMI Cable, AC power cord, USB cable, printed materials, ASTRO’s PLAYROOM (Pre-installed game)
- Vertical Stand sold seperately
That distinction matters when deciding whether the game matches your tastes. The official descriptions establish a martial-arts action RPG with a dark fantasy setting, but they do not demonstrate its moment-to-moment feel or how much time it devotes to exploration versus combat. If your decision depends on those qualities, publisher descriptions alone cannot settle it before release.
Where and when you can buy it
The official listings reviewed as of October 13, 2026 show two platforms and two different displayed release dates. S-GAME and PlayStation give October 29, 2026; Steam displays October 28, 2026. The sources do not explain the discrepancy, so it is safest to check the date shown for your platform and region rather than assume a cause.
| Route | Official listing | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| PS5 | PlayStation lists October 29, 2026, and marks the game PS5 Pro Enhanced. | Confirm the date and edition displayed in your PlayStation Store region. |
| PC | Steam lists the game for purchase and displays October 28, 2026. | Check your regional Steam storefront for its date, currency and edition prices. |
| Other platforms | No Xbox or Switch release is confirmed by the official sources reviewed. | Do not buy hardware or make plans on the assumption that another version is coming. |
For the PS5 route, the PlayStation product page lists DualSense vibration and adaptive-trigger support. That is a feature of the PS5 version, not evidence that you must buy a separate controller. A PS5 console is only a relevant extra purchase if you choose that route and do not already own one; PC is also listed. No PC system requirements or performance targets are established in the available listings, so check Steam again before buying if your decision depends on your PC’s specifications.
The platform decision can therefore start with the hardware you already own, not the date discrepancy. If you have a PS5, its store listing confirms that route and DualSense features. If you play on PC, Steam is the confirmed route, but the reviewed listing does not give system requirements or performance targets to compare against your setup. There is no confirmed Xbox or Switch option in these official listings, so don’t treat an unannounced version as part of your purchase plan.
“PS5 Pro Enhanced” is a storefront label, not a detailed technical specification. The listing does not say what resolution, frame rate, graphics modes or other differences buyers should expect between a PS5 Pro and standard PS5. If those details are important, the label alone is not enough to choose a console or predict performance.
Which edition makes sense?
The US PlayStation Store lists the Standard Edition at $59.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition at $69.99. These are prices displayed by that regional storefront when checked on October 13, 2026—not a worldwide price guarantee. Steam also lists Standard and Digital Deluxe pre-purchase editions, but its displayed currency and price depend on storefront region.

| Edition | Listed price and contents | Practical distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $59.99 on the US PlayStation Store; includes the full game. | The lower-priced listed option if you want the game without the Deluxe digital extras. |
| Digital Deluxe | $69.99 on the US PlayStation Store; includes the full game, Wulin Legend and Blood-Steel Form appearances, a digital artbook and a digital soundtrack. | Costs $10 more than Standard at the listed US PlayStation Store prices. The added items are digital extras; the listing does not describe a physical artbook or soundtrack. |
The Deluxe preorder also receives the listed preorder bonuses, according to the PlayStation Store. Steam’s page lists both editions for pre-purchase, but the US PlayStation prices should not be carried over to PC or other countries. Check the checkout screen for your region, currency and edition contents before placing an order.
The practical Deluxe question is whether the named extras are worth the $10 difference at the observed US PlayStation prices. The game itself is included in both editions; the listed additions are two appearances plus a digital artbook and soundtrack. No listed Deluxe content is described as a gameplay expansion, and the store listing does not establish whether the appearances affect anything beyond presentation. If you only want the full game, Standard is the less expensive listed choice; if the digital extras appeal to you, compare the local price difference before deciding.
Prices and editions are storefront-specific snapshots, not a promise that every buyer will see the same amount. The PlayStation figures above are from the US store. Steam shows the two edition categories, but regional currency and price vary by storefront. Before paying, confirm the exact edition name, currency, total and included items in the store where you intend to buy. A displayed price in one territory is not a reliable basis for budgeting in another.
No physical retail copy, collector’s edition, printed artbook or soundtrack disc is confirmed by the official pages reviewed. The listed Deluxe artbook and soundtrack are digital. If you specifically want a boxed copy or physical collectibles, the available information does not establish that they will be sold.
What the preorder bonuses do—and do not do
The listed preorder items are the Treasure Basin accessory and the Legacy outfit/appearance. The Treasure Basin is described as increasing Remnant Dust drop rate by 10%. PlayStation and Steam characterize these items as early unlocks and say they can also be obtained through in-game progression. That makes the bonus a matter of getting access earlier, not obtaining permanently exclusive equipment or clothing.

The available descriptions do not explain how soon they become available through progression, how much Remnant Dust normally drops, or how useful the increase is in a particular build. The 10% figure describes the accessory’s listed effect; it is not a promise of 10% more total rewards across every activity.

PlayStation’s listing says Deluxe preorders also receive the preorder bonuses. The extra price for Deluxe is therefore tied to the edition’s appearances and digital artbook and soundtrack, rather than a separate preorder-only set of items. Steam lists both editions for pre-purchase and likewise describes the bonus items as obtainable through progression. On either route, early access to the items is the stated distinction; the listings do not say that waiting permanently forfeits them.
There is also no official detail here on whether the preorder offer has a cutoff date, how long the early-unlock window lasts, or the exact in-game conditions for earning these items. Avoid treating the accessory as a guaranteed economic advantage without context: the page provides a percentage effect, but not base drop rates, upgrade costs or a comparison with other accessories.
What is known about combat and customization
The PlayStation Blog’s August 17, 2026 gameplay overview says players can unlock more than 30 main weapons and 25 secondary weapons called Phantom Edges. PlayStation’s product page instead describes 30+ primary weapons and 20+ Phantom Edges; Steam likewise says more than 30 primary weapons and more than 20 Phantom Edges. Those are source-specific descriptions, not a single matching inventory count, so treat them as evidence of a broad weapon selection rather than a definitive count of every item in the final release.
The difference between “25” in the Blog and “20+” on the product pages is worth keeping in view. Both descriptions point to a sizeable secondary-weapon selection, but they do not use the same exact figure. The main-weapon descriptions are more consistent at 30-plus. Counts can be useful when considering the advertised range of equipment, but they do not tell you whether weapons have distinct movesets, how they are balanced, or how much variety is meaningful in play.
The Blog also identifies side quests, weapon upgrades, accessories, summons and combat customization. Side quests may open story paths, according to that overview, which gives exploration a narrative role as well as a combat one. The available material does not specify the number of endings, the exact branching structure, weapon stats, respec rules or whether any choice is irreversible.
Those omissions are relevant if you are deciding whether the game supports a particular play style. The official descriptions indicate build variation and upgrade systems, but they do not spell out whether a player can freely change a build later, how summons work, or whether upgrades require particular materials. It is reasonable to expect choices around equipment and combat customization because those systems are listed; it is not possible to judge their depth or flexibility from the feature list alone.

Donnie Yen has served as a creative consultant since 2023, according to the official PlayStation Blog. The post says he contributed martial-arts and action-filmmaking expertise to combat design and performed facial and motion capture for Mó Yuan, Soul’s father. That explains his documented contribution, but it is not a substitute for seeing how combat feels in the finished game.
Accessibility and play features listed for PS5
The PlayStation product listing names basic adjustable difficulty, full dialogue subtitles, control and tutorial reminders, manual saving, volume controls, and the ability to pause during gameplay or cinematics while playing offline. The PlayStation Blog’s gameplay deep dive also mentions difficulty options. These are storefront-listed features; their exact implementation and availability should be confirmed for your region and final release build.
- Difficulty: The listing says basic difficulty adjustment is available. It does not provide a detailed breakdown of modes or explain which settings can be changed independently.
- Subtitles: Full dialogue subtitles are listed. The page does not establish which subtitle languages are included.
- Controls and guidance: Control and tutorial reminders are listed, but the specific remapping options and reminder controls are not detailed.
- Saving: Manual saving is listed. The page does not describe save-slot limits or any autosave behavior.
- Pausing and audio: Volume controls and pausing during gameplay or cinematics while offline are listed. The pause note is explicitly qualified for offline play.
If a particular accessibility setting is essential for you, verify it on the platform store page for your region and, once available, in the game’s final settings. A general listing cannot answer whether a specific control can be remapped, whether subtitle size is adjustable, or how flexible each difficulty option is.
These details can help buyers identify what to check, but they should not be read as a complete accessibility audit. “Full dialogue subtitles” does not specify language coverage, and a reference to control reminders does not confirm full button remapping. Similarly, “basic adjustable difficulty” indicates that adjustment is listed, but not which challenge elements can be tuned separately. If you need a feature for access, look for explicit confirmation rather than inferring it from a broad label.

As of October 13, 2026, the game is still unreleased. The official listings and announcements do not provide independent review scores, verified performance measurements, a confirmed playtime, or hands-on evidence of how combat and exploration feel. The “PS5 Pro Enhanced” label is present on PlayStation’s listing, but by itself it does not specify frame rate, resolution, graphics modes or differences from a standard PS5.

There are no verified PC system requirements in the reviewed official listings, either. If you are choosing the PC version based on a particular processor, graphics card, memory amount or storage space, there is not enough listed information here to assess compatibility. Recheck Steam when requirements are posted and compare them with your own machine; do not assume that the game will run well simply because it appears in the store.
- Consider waiting if you need performance information for your specific hardware, want independent impressions of combat, or are unsure whether the game’s tone and structure suit you.
- Consider buying at launch if the confirmed platform, listed price and announced features are enough for you to decide without reviews.
- Do not preorder solely for the listed items if early access to the Treasure Basin and Legacy appearance is not important to you; the official listings say both can be obtained through progression.
Waiting is especially sensible if a technical or accessibility requirement is non-negotiable: the currently listed feature set does not answer every implementation question, and there are no independent performance results to rely on. Buying early can still suit players already comfortable with the listed platform and price, but it means accepting that those questions remain open until the game is available and evaluated.
A quick buying decision
- Choose the platform you can actually use. Official listings confirm PS5 and PC. On PS5, note the October 29 date and DualSense features; on Steam, note its October 28 displayed date. Neither source explains the one-day difference.
- Check the local store page. The $59.99 Standard and $69.99 Deluxe prices are US PlayStation Store observations from October 13, 2026. Confirm your own region’s currency, price and edition contents before purchase.
- Pay extra for Deluxe only if its digital extras appeal to you. The listed additions are two appearances, a digital artbook and a digital soundtrack. No physical versions are confirmed.
- Decide whether early unlocks matter. The Treasure Basin’s listed 10% Remnant Dust drop-rate increase and the Legacy appearance are also described as obtainable through progression.
- Factor in what is still unknown. If reviews, PC requirements, performance details or hands-on impressions would change your decision, wait until that information is available rather than treating promotional descriptions as proof of quality.
In short, compare the route you already have access to, the local edition price and the value you place on digital extras. Treat the preorder contents as early access to items the listings say can be earned later, and treat all performance, playtime and hands-on questions as unanswered until release information is available.

The Bottom Line
Phantom Blade Zero is confirmed for PS5 and PC, but the official listings show a one-day release-date difference and do not yet answer questions about reviews, performance, playtime or PC requirements. The US PlayStation Store lists a $59.99 Standard Edition and a $69.99 Deluxe Edition with digital extras. Since the listed preorder items can also be earned through progression, waiting for reviews is a reasonable choice if those early unlocks are not important to you.
