A WNBA blackout usually means the game’s live broadcast rights belong to a national or local provider—not that your stream is broken. Find the exact game on the current WNBA schedule, check its listed broadcaster for your location, and watch through that authorized provider. If live viewing is unavailable, League Pass replay timing depends on whether the blackout is national or local.
Find where this specific game is being shown
-
Open the WNBA schedule and identify the game by date and teams. Check the broadcaster or viewing availability shown for that game; rights differ by matchup and market.

-
Compare the listing with your current country and local market. In the United States, League Pass uses your ZIP code to determine which local team’s locally televised games are excluded. Its location determination may use your IP address or enabled device location services.

Watch through the broadcaster or distributor listed for that game. Depending on the matchup, that may be a local broadcast station, a regional sports network, or a national service. There is no single service that carries every WNBA game.

The WNBA explains that “Blackout restrictions exist because local and national content providers have certain exclusive rights to televise live games.” Its blackout article, updated August 12, 2026, lists ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, Disney+, CBS, Paramount+, NBC, Peacock, USA Network, and Amazon Prime Video for nationally televised games in the US, alongside locally televised games of the viewer’s local team. These lists can change, so use the current schedule and blackout guidance rather than treating that list as permanent.
In Canada, the same WNBA guidance lists TSN, SN, CTV, and CTV2 for nationally televised games. Check the schedule for the applicable provider and game; Canadian availability is not necessarily the same as US availability.

When the League Pass replay becomes available
If you cannot watch live through the listed provider, the on-demand release depends on the blackout type and country:

|---|---|
| US national blackout | 6 a.m. Eastern Time the following day. |

| Canada national blackout | Shortly after the game ends. |

These windows are stated in the WNBA’s blackout article; check it for current terms. League Pass includes live and on-demand games, full-length replays, and archives, but a subscription does not remove the live blackout for a game assigned to another broadcaster.

If League Pass seems to have your location wrong
Because the service may rely on your IP address or device location services, first check whether your device and network reflect where you actually are. The WNBA’s published guidance does not give a full correction procedure or guarantee that changing a setting will fix a mistaken location. If the blackout persists despite being in a location where you believe the game should be available, contact WNBA support with the game details and the location shown or inferred by the service.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. When an antenna might help
An indoor HDTV antenna is relevant only if the game is carried by a local over-the-air station you can receive. The WNBA says ION is available throughout most of the US through antennas, pay-TV providers, and streaming services, but that does not mean every game airs on ION in every market. Confirm the game’s local listing and reception before buying an antenna. It is not a way to bypass a streaming blackout.

Do not try to bypass the blackout
The WNBA subscriber agreement prohibits attempts to circumvent blackout restrictions. It says violations may lead to immediate termination, a $100 early termination charge, and possible legal action. Use the authorized broadcaster or wait for the stated replay window instead.
