Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallIf you can’t install a Dell CyberSense update immediately, first confirm the exact installed version, deployment type, and security advisory that applies. The advisories reviewed here specify fixed-version thresholds but do not establish a universal temporary workaround. Ask Dell Support whether it has an approved interim control for your installation; meanwhile, have your security and operations teams assess exposure before changing network access or service configuration.
Confirm which advisory applies to your installation
Do not decide whether CyberSense is affected based on its product name alone or by carrying a version threshold over from another advisory. Compare your installed version and the vulnerability set named in the applicable advisory.

- Dell DSA-2026-263 lists “Versions prior to 8.17” as affected and “Version 8.17 and later” as remediated. Its revision history records an initial release on July 2, 2026, and an update on July 6, 2026. Check the live advisory for later changes.
- The Canadian Centre for Cyber Security’s AV26-414, dated May 4, 2026, cross-references Dell updates and lists CyberSense versions prior to 8.16. It is a separate advisory snapshot with its own scope, not a replacement for checking the current Dell advisory that matches the vulnerabilities in question.
- Dell DSA-2024-151 is another advisory with its own scope. Use the affected and remediated versions stated in the advisory relevant to your issue rather than assuming one threshold applies to every CyberSense vulnerability.
Record the details Dell Support needs
Before opening a case, gather the information that lets Support match advice to the system rather than to CyberSense generally:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Installed CyberSense version and build.
- Whether it is a virtual appliance or a non-virtual (bare-metal) deployment, plus the appliance role.
- The advisory and CVE identifiers you are checking.
- Whether the system is reachable from less-trusted networks and any relevant exposure context.
- Operational constraints on applying an update, including the system’s business role.
Use your organization’s entitled Dell support channel or open a case through Dell’s CyberSense Support and Advisories page. Dell notes that some support resources require a corporate account. Ask directly whether an approved interim control exists for your exact version, deployment, and advisory; the reviewed CyberSense advisory material does not document a general temporary workaround.

Check deployment type before using package instructions
Update directions can depend on how CyberSense is deployed. For example, Dell DSA-2025-287, dated July 21, 2025, described an OS update package for the CVEs in that advisory covering virtual appliances on versions 8.0 through 8.10. Dell stated that OS updates on non-virtual deployments were the customer’s responsibility and noted that its offline repository could update dependencies on bare-metal deployments.
That is advisory- and version-specific guidance, not a universal instruction for every CyberSense release. Confirm the currently applicable Dell package, prerequisites, and deployment instructions for your installation before scheduling an update. The available sources do not establish one set of installation steps for all versions and deployment types.

Reduce exposure carefully while waiting
If patching is not possible, CISA and partner agencies recommend network segmentation as general guidance for limiting exposure when patching cannot be done. This is not a Dell-approved CyberSense workaround. Have your security and operations teams assess whether a network control is appropriate, what dependencies it could affect, and how it changes residual exposure.
Recommended Free Tools
Do not assume that taking CyberSense offline, disabling a feature, changing a port, or applying a particular firewall rule is safe or recommended. The reviewed CyberSense materials do not establish any of those actions as a vendor-approved interim mitigation. Make configuration changes only after validating their operational impact and, where appropriate, getting guidance from Dell. See CISA’s general cybersecurity misconfiguration guidance for the broader segmentation recommendation.

Escalate urgent business or data risks
Dell says to call Support directly for a Severity 1 issue affecting critical business functions or causing potential data loss: “If you are experiencing a Severity 1 issue that is impacting critical business functions or causing potential data loss, please call Support directly for assistance.” Use the phone escalation guidance on Dell’s CyberSense support page if those conditions apply; do not let an unresolved temporary-control question delay an urgent Severity 1 escalation.
