If someone is shocked or exposed to smoke
Possible electric shock
If someone may still be touching an energized pump, cord, or other electrical source, do not touch them. The CDC advises: “Look first. Don’t touch. The person may still be in contact with the electrical source.” Call emergency medical help. Turn off the source only if you can do so safely. Have affected power equipment checked
If the pump, outlet, cord, or wiring may be damaged—or equipment became wet—do not restore power to it until it has been inspected by a qualified professional and is completely dry.
