First, find the transfer’s transaction ID (TxID) in the sender’s withdrawal history. If there is no TxID, the sending service may not have broadcast the payment. If there is one, check it on a block explorer for the exact network used. That tells you whether the transfer is still pending, failed, or confirmed—and whether the next step belongs with the sender or the recipient.
Start by locating the transaction ID
Open the sending service’s withdrawal or transaction history and find the status, TxID, transaction hash, or explorer link. A withdrawal request marked as processing or pending without a TxID may still be at the service; it is not proof that a blockchain transfer has begun. Binance describes withdrawal processing, network confirmation, and destination deposit as separate stages in its withdrawal FAQ.

If a TxID is available, open it in a block explorer for the exact network selected for the transfer. Check the result (pending, successful, or failed), confirmation count, asset, amount, sender and destination addresses, and fee. OKX explains the information shown in its withdrawal status guide. Address appearance by itself does not prove that the right network was used.

If there is no TxID
Check the sender’s withdrawal history and any alerts or requested actions. If the status remains in processing, ask the sending service whether the withdrawal has been broadcast and whether it needs anything from the account holder. Use that provider’s current support instructions rather than assuming a universal processing deadline.

Timing guidance is provider-specific. Binance’s FAQ, dated January 3, 2018, says a TxID is typically generated within 30–60 minutes and advises contacting support if one is still absent six hours after email confirmation. The page warns its information may be outdated, so verify the instructions shown in the current Binance account before relying on those timings.
If the explorer shows pending or unconfirmed
Check whether the confirmation count is increasing, then compare it with the receiving service’s published requirement for that asset and network. Congestion, low transaction fees, too few confirmations, or a temporary problem at a network node or provider can delay progress. Confirmation requirements and arrival times vary; there is no single timeline that applies to every crypto transfer. Circle’s USDC Bridge FAQ advises monitoring confirmations and waiting when they continue to increase. Coinbase also explains pending transfers and confirmation delays.

- If confirmations are moving, continue monitoring the transaction and check the recipient’s confirmation threshold.
- If confirmations are not moving, contact the sender or sending service with the TxID and ask them to investigate.
- Do not send a duplicate transfer as a test. Some self-custody wallets may offer replace, accelerate, or rebroadcast options, but the right action depends on the chain, wallet, and transaction state. Follow that wallet’s official instructions before making a change or paying another fee.
Lightning is a distinct case, not an ordinary on-chain transfer: Coinbase says a Lightning invoice can remain pending for 72 hours or until the sender completes it. See its Lightning guidance for that specific payment type.

A successful blockchain transaction does not by itself mean an exchange or wallet account has credited the deposit. Open the receiving platform’s deposit page and check that it supports the exact asset and network, the deposit meets any minimum, the required confirmation count has been reached, and any memo or tag was included. Compare the full destination address and memo/tag with the transaction record.

Also review the recipient account’s deposit and wallet history, asset filters, service notices, and alerts for identity or profile information requests. Coinbase lists account actions as one possible reason a deposit is delayed; its pending transaction guidance says that after requested actions are completed, credit may take 3–5 business days. That is Coinbase-specific guidance, not a general crypto timetable. Binance likewise directs users to the receiving platform once blockchain confirmation is complete in its withdrawal FAQ.
Once the transaction is confirmed, the route details match, and the platform’s published confirmation threshold is met, contact the receiving service through its official support channel. Ask whether the asset and network are supported and whether it has a manual-credit or recovery process. Coinbase says most transactions complete within 30 minutes in its support guidance; that is a Coinbase statement, not a promise for every service or transfer. Credit or recovery is not guaranteed, and available procedures depend on provider policy, asset, network, and region.

If the address, network, asset, or memo/tag was wrong
Stop and record exactly what was sent, the network used, and the destination details. Contact the service or wallet that controls the destination address using a support route you find independently on its official site. Explain the mismatch and ask whether it has a recovery process.
A missing or incorrect memo/tag can leave a platform unable to identify which account should receive a deposit. Funds sent to an unsupported network or wrong address may be lost. Coinbase explicitly says it cannot recover funds sent on the wrong network in its unsupported-crypto recovery guidance; OKX also warns that mistaken transfers may not be recoverable in its withdrawal status guide. Do not treat a successful explorer status as proof that a recipient can recover or credit funds sent along the wrong route.

Ignore unexpected messages from people offering to unlock, reverse, or recover the funds for a fee. Contact the exchange or wallet directly through its official help center; do not share passwords, recovery phrases, or private keys.
What to send support
Collect the records before opening a ticket. A concise, complete report helps support identify which stage needs attention.
- TxID or explorer link, if one exists
- Asset, amount, and sending and receiving networks
- Destination address and any memo/tag
- Date and time, including timezone
- Current status and confirmation count
- Name of the sending and receiving services or wallets
- Withdrawal or deposit history screenshots and relevant account notices
For a USDC Bridge issue, Circle asks for the transaction hash, wallet address, provider and version, source and destination networks, date and time, USDC amount, and web or mobile app plus browser and operating-system details in its Bridge FAQ. Share sensitive account information only through the provider’s official support system.
Route the problem to the party that can act
- No TxID: ask the sender or sending service whether the withdrawal was broadcast.
- Unconfirmed or stalled transaction: give the sender or sending service the TxID and ask it to investigate.
- Confirmed transaction, correct route, deposit still absent: give the recipient platform the TxID and ask about its confirmation threshold, account requirements, and credit process.
- Wrong route or missing memo/tag: contact the service controlling the destination, but expect that recovery may be unavailable.
Support policies, supported assets, confirmation counts, and recovery options vary by provider and jurisdiction. Use the relevant service’s current official instructions.
