Also review how recording is signaled, whether the model is sold in your country, and the seller’s return and warranty terms. Specifications and support vary by generation, frame, and region, so compare the precise listing—not just the product family name.
Start with phone, app, and account compatibility
These glasses depend on a phone and companion app for setup and key features; they are not simply standalone cameras. Ray-Ban’s FAQ lists a smartphone, the Meta AI app, wireless internet, and a valid Meta account as requirements. Its U.S. FAQ gives Android 10 or later and iOS 14.4 or later, while the Meta listing for Blayzer Optics Gen 2 specifies Android 10 minimum and iOS 15.2 or later. Those requirements differ, so check the supported-device list and app requirements for the exact model and your phone before ordering.

Check what the camera records—and at what settings
Camera resolution alone does not tell you whether the glasses suit your use. Look for the still-image resolution, video frame rates, available recording durations, and whether those specifications belong to the generation and frame you plan to buy.
Example: Blayzer Optics Gen 2
Meta lists this specific model with a 12 MP ultra-wide camera and 3024 × 4032-pixel image acquisition. Its listed video modes range from 720p+ at 120 fps and 1080p+ at 30 or 60 fps to 3K Ultra HD at 30 fps. Meta’s September 2025 announcement also describes Gen 2 video capture as 3K Ultra HD. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent image-quality test results; they should not be generalized to other models or generations.
Ray-Ban’s FAQ lists one-touch video durations of 30 seconds, 60 seconds, and three minutes for supported glasses. Check the precise model’s recording controls and limits if short clips or hands-free capture are central to your decision.

Translate battery claims into your routine
Meta announced up to eight hours of typical-use battery life for Gen 2, a 50% charge in 20 minutes, and an additional 48 hours of charging from the case. Its Blayzer Optics Gen 2 listing describes over eight hours and up to 48 hours with a fully charged case. These are manufacturer claims, not independent runtime measurements. Camera recording, calls, and audio can change actual runtime, so consider whether you can recharge during the day and how often you expect to use those features.
The same product listing gives 32 GB of flash storage, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.3. Storage and connectivity details are model-specific; verify them on the listing for the exact glasses rather than assuming they carry across a product line.

Smart glasses still have to fit like glasses you will wear regularly. Check the frame dimensions, weight, available sizes, lens choices, and prescription limits before focusing on camera features. The cited Blayzer Optics Gen 2 listing offers standard and large dimensions, with listed frame weights of 49.2 g and 52 g, respectively. It describes prescription support from -12.00 to +6.00 total power for this model only; that range should not be applied to other frame families.
Meta describes an ordering flow in which buyers select a frame, enter a prescription, and configure lenses. Confirm that the lens type you want and local optician support are available, and read the prescription-lens return terms before ordering. Ray-Ban’s FAQ says the package includes a charging case, quick-start guide, safety and warranty guide, prescription-lens instructions, and cleaning cloth.

Understand the recording indicator—and what it cannot tell you
Ray-Ban identifies a front-facing LED as the signal for photo or video capture. Meta says the LEDs activate during capture, and says its system prevents photo or video capture when the light is covered. Meta’s privacy guidance asks users to get permission from people nearby before recording. An indicator is a signal, not consent or proof that everyone around the wearer noticed a recording.
A 2026 Digital Camera World guide relays its reviewer’s concern that the small light can be hard to see in daylight. That is a reviewer’s assessment, not a universal finding. If you plan to record in shared spaces, consider whether the indicator is easy to notice in your typical conditions, check venue rules, and consult local law for your intended use.

Meta says captures remain on the glasses until the user transfers them to a phone through the Meta AI app. Read the current privacy and data-handling information for the model and app, especially if you want to understand how clips move to your phone and what happens after transfer.

Check that the exact generation and frame configuration are officially sold where you live, and confirm the terms with the seller you will actually use. Ray-Ban’s FAQ lists supported purchase countries including the U.S., Canada, the UK, Ireland, Austria, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Australia, with regional exclusions and select Meta markets noted. The FAQ states a one-year manufacturer defect warranty generally and two years for EU/EFTA purchases. Read the current regional terms: warranty coverage, return eligibility, and prescription-lens policies can differ by market and seller.
Meta’s September 2025 announcement described availability at that time, including Switzerland and the Netherlands as additions. That is historical launch context, not a current global stock or availability list. Before paying, confirm the seller is authorized, the return window covers your needs, and the warranty applies to your country and exact model.

Compare exact models side by side rather than treating “camera smart glasses” as one specification set:
- Compatibility: Supported phone operating systems, current app requirements, account needs, and setup connectivity.
- Camera: Still-image resolution, video resolutions and frame rates, recording controls, and clip-duration limits.
- Power and storage: Manufacturer’s typical-use claim, charging case capacity, storage, and the impact of your expected camera, call, and audio use.
- Fit: Frame dimensions and weight, size options, lens choices, prescription range, and access to fitting or lens support.
- Privacy: What signals recording, what happens if the indicator is covered, how captured files transfer, and whether the indicator is noticeable in your setting.
- Purchase terms: Local availability, seller authorization, return conditions, warranty length, and prescription-lens exclusions.
Meta’s 2025 announcement gave Gen 2 a starting price of $379 USD at launch. That is a dated announcement price, not a current price; check the live listing for today’s price and configuration.
