Judge the stealth game you can play now
Early Access means the game is still in progress. Steam advises buyers to review the current screenshots and trailers, and to wait if they are not excited to play the game in its present state. Its buyer FAQ describes Early Access games as “a work-in-progress.” Steam’s Early Access FAQ

For a stealth game, look for footage of the actual play loop rather than a montage of planned features or cinematic scenes. Ask whether the footage shows:
- Which stealth actions are available, and whether they match the kind of play you enjoy.
- How enemies notice the player and respond to detection.
- What happens when a stealth attempt fails, and whether recovery is possible.
- How much of the intended experience is playable in the current build.
These are practical questions for evaluating stealth gameplay, not guarantees about what a particular store page will disclose. If you cannot tell what playing the current build is like, seek more gameplay or hold off.

Read the Early Access disclosure
Steam says its store pages include Early Access information. Its developer guidance says the description should explain why the game is in Early Access, what state it is in now, what additions are planned, how long Early Access is expected to last, the pricing strategy and how the community can contribute. Use those disclosures to distinguish what exists from what is proposed. Valve’s guidance tells developers that customers should buy based on the game’s current state, not on promises about a future that may not happen. A roadmap can help you understand the developer’s intentions, but it cannot establish that planned features will ship, arrive on schedule or meet your expectations.

Look at update history and communication
Check the game’s recent update posts and the substance of the developer’s communication, not just the presence of a roadmap. Steam says it adds a store-page notice when a game has had no update-type event in more than 12 months. That threshold is a reason to inspect the update record; it does not explain why updates stopped or prove that development has been abandoned. Steam’s Early Access FAQ

Compare the current price with what is playable
Decide whether the current build offers enough content, stability and stealth gameplay to justify its price for you. Do not count promised missions, systems or improvements as though they were already included. If you are comparing two games, assess them on the same present-day criteria:

Compatibility details vary by game; check its current listing rather than assuming that general Early Access guidance answers questions about requirements or accessibility.

Check the refund terms for your storefront
For purchases made on Steam, the published standard refund offer covers games and software requested within 14 days of purchase and with less than two hours of playtime. Steam counts Early Access playtime toward that two-hour limit. Steam also says it cannot refund purchases made outside Steam, including third-party CD keys. Read Steam’s refund policy and check the terms of the actual seller before buying; Steam’s rules should not be assumed to apply to other stores.
If you rely on a refund as a way to assess a game, keep both the purchase date and playtime limit in mind. Do not assume that an Early Access purchase receives a separate playtime allowance.
