Will you use the large inner screen—and like the phone when folded?
The Fold7 has an 8.0-inch, 120Hz main display and a 6.5-inch, 120Hz cover display. Samsung lists it at 215g, with a thickness of 8.9mm when folded and 4.2mm when unfolded. The inner screen gives you more room for viewing, editing and multitasking, but the phone’s daily comfort depends on how it feels closed as well as open.

If possible, handle one before buying. Try typing on the cover screen with your usual grip and consider whether you will regularly open the phone to use the larger display. The dimensions and weight are Samsung specifications, not a substitute for checking your own comfort.
Do you need an S Pen?

Are the cameras right for the photos you take?
The rear camera system comprises a 200MP wide camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3× optical zoom. Both the cover-screen and inner-screen cameras are 10MP. Samsung also advertises 30× Space Zoom, but zoom beyond 3× is digital; the maximum zoom figure does not mean 30× optical detail.
Think about which lenses you use most and whether you often photograph distant subjects. If long-range detail is a priority, compare sample images and independent tests for the specific phones you are considering rather than treating a headline zoom number as a guarantee of image quality. The cited Samsung materials establish the camera specifications, not comparative camera performance.

Samsung announced three configurations. Availability can vary by market and sales channel, so confirm the exact model offered where you plan to buy.

Choose based on how much space your apps, photos, video and offline files use. Check local availability before settling on a configuration; Samsung’s announcement does not establish that every option is sold through every retailer or region.
Can you work with the battery and charging setup?
The battery capacity is 4,400mAh. Samsung’s US product page claims up to 24 hours of video playback; that is a manufacturer figure, not a measured result or a promise for every person’s mix of apps, calls, screen use and network conditions. The cited material does not provide an independent, comparable real-world battery test.
A 25W power adapter is sold separately. Check whether you already have a compatible adapter or need to include one in your purchase budget. Samsung’s product information and specification sheet list the battery and charging details.

What do the durability claims—and limits—mean?
Samsung lists an IP48 rating, Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the cover, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the rear, and an Advanced Armor Aluminum frame. The rating should not be read as meaning the phone is dustproof or immune to damage. Samsung’s materials describe water-resistance conditions and advise rinsing residue and drying the device after it gets wet; they also caution against treating it as protected for beach or pool use and say water resistance can diminish with wear.

What is in the box, and what might you need to buy?
Samsung lists the phone, a USB-C data cable and a SIM-tray ejection pin in the box. A charger is not included; the 25W power adapter is sold separately. Samsung also lists Fold7 cases and an anti-reflecting cover-screen film as accessories. If choosing a third-party case, confirm it is made for the Fold7 and check its hinge design and added bulk rather than assuming another Fold model’s case will fit. Is the price you see a current, comparable offer?
Samsung announced a US starting price of $1,999.99 when the Fold7 launched, with US general availability beginning July 25, 2025. That figure is historical launch MSRP, not a current offer. On October 4, 2026, Samsung’s US unlocked purchase page did not expose a dependable live Fold7 price in its opened content and displayed a Fold8 promotion instead.
