The MediaTek Dimensity 9500s is an eight-core smartphone system-on-chip built around one Cortex-X925, three Cortex-X4 and four Cortex-A720 CPU cores, plus an Immortalis-G925 GPU. MediaTek announced it on January 15, 2026. The published benchmark figures are third-party results—not guaranteed scores for every phone—and MediaTek’s gaming frame-rate figures are platform claims rather than promises for every game or device.

MediaTek Dimensity 9500s specifications

MediaTek describes the Dimensity 9500s as a flagship chip made using 3 nm technology. Its product specifications cover the platform; a phone maker’s implementation determines details such as the GPU configuration and how the chip performs in a finished handset. MediaTek’s product specifications and its January 15, 2026 launch announcement provide the platform details.

Dimensity 9500s benchmarks: reported results and caveats

The available figures are third-party observations from different sources, not results from a controlled comparison of retail phones. They should be read as reported results for the tested or listed entries, not as a universal score for the chipset.

Scores can change with the handset’s cooling, power limits, memory, software and test conditions. Because these figures do not come from matched devices tested under the same conditions, they cannot establish a reliable performance winner against another chip. For a useful comparison, look for the same benchmark version and graphics test, along with sustained performance, thermals, power use and the actual modem and memory implementation.

What MediaTek says about gaming

MediaTek promotes ray tracing, Adaptive Gaming Technology 3.0 and Frame Rate Converter 3.0 for the Dimensity 9500s. It advertises gameplay of up to 165 FPS and power-optimized 120+ FPS in top titles. These are MediaTek’s claims about platform capabilities; they do not mean every game, phone or settings combination will reach or sustain those frame rates. The specific title, handset configuration and settings matter.

What the benchmark scores can—and cannot—tell you

The scores indicate that results have been reported for the chip, but the available evidence does not provide controlled, matched-handset testing across competing processors. Nor does it establish a named retail handset using the Dimensity 9500s. A chipset score alone therefore cannot support a recommendation for a particular phone. When assessing a handset, use device-specific reviews and results, especially for sustained workloads and thermal behavior.

Why MediaTek announced the chip

In its January 15, 2026 announcement, MediaTek positioned the launch as part of a wider effort to make advanced technology available to more people. JC Hsu, MediaTek corporate senior vice president and general manager of the Wireless Communications Business Unit, said: “As leaders in smartphone global share, we are committed to increasing our investment in advanced technologies and striving to make bleeding-edge products available to more people.” This is the company’s stated positioning, not an independent assessment of the chip.
