If the light is on a port of the RYOBI FVCH01 USB Lithium 3-Port Charger, interpret it as a charger indicator—not as the battery’s USB-C indicator.

What to check if the FVB01 will not start charging
- Confirm which indicator you are reading. Check whether the light is on the battery during USB-C charging or on a charger port, then verify the model label. The patterns above apply to the FVB01 and FVCH01 respectively.
- Account for battery temperature. A pack that is too hot or too cold may not begin charging until it returns to an acceptable temperature. The FVB01 manual’s indicator notes identify temperatures above 122°F (50°C) and below 32°F (0°C) as hot or cold conditions.
- If the FVB01 light is off, check the power source and cable. The manual associates the off indicator with an error involving the power supply or USB-C cable.
- Use the 30-minute cue only for a hot or cold charging wait. If charging has not begun after 30 minutes while waiting for the pack to reach an acceptable temperature, the manual says the battery or USB-C cable may have an error.
- If normal charging still fails, seek an electrical check. The FVB01 manual says to return both the pack and charger to an Authorized Service Center.
- For FVCH01 warning lights, follow the charger-specific response. Let a battery cool after flashing red; for flashing red and green, consult the manual or service channel rather than assuming the battery itself has failed.
Check the model before applying a light code
The FVB01 and FVCH01 instructions describe different components and charging methods. They do not establish that these patterns apply to all RYOBI USB Lithium products, or to other RYOBI battery families. The manuals are reproduced by Manuals+; a revision date is not stated on the retrieved pages. Use the manual for the exact model if yours is different. Do not disassemble a pack or bypass its protections to troubleshoot a light.
