The infinity symbol in Apple Music is the AutoPlay control. When it’s on, Apple Music adds similar songs to your queue so music can continue after the tracks you selected. It doesn’t repeat the current song.
What AutoPlay does
AutoPlay extends the queue: after the music already queued finishes, Apple Music finds similar songs and plays them. Apple describes the feature as finding similar songs and playing them afterwards. The infinity icon indicates that AutoPlay is on.

AutoPlay is separate from Repeat. Repeat plays the current selection again; AutoPlay adds similar tracks after the existing queue. On Mac, Apple also distinguishes AutoPlay from AutoMix, which transitions between songs, and Crossfade, which fades one song out as the next fades in. Icons and labels can vary by device and software version.

Tap the AutoPlay button at the top-right of the queue screen to switch the feature off or on.
With AutoPlay off, Apple Music won’t add its similar-song suggestions after the selected queue. Apple’s current instructions cover iPhone, iPad, and Android; the precise interface can differ across devices and software versions. Apple Support’s queue instructions provide the device-specific steps.

Does the setting apply to other devices?
Apple says turning AutoPlay off on one device also turns it off on other devices signed in with the same Apple Account. The setting therefore isn’t limited to the device where you changed it.

Who can use AutoPlay?
Apple states that AutoPlay is available only to Apple Music subscribers. Its Music on Mac symbol guide defines the infinity symbol as AutoPlay being on, with similar songs added to the queue.
