Pokimane’s current primary streaming encoder has not been authoritatively confirmed in public sources. It would be inaccurate to state that she currently uses OBS Studio, Streamlabs Desktop, or another specific encoder. Her reported historical use of Streamlabs for alerts and tipping does not establish which software she uses to encode and send a stream today.
What is confirmed—and what isn’t
The available public reporting on this question does not identify Pokimane’s current primary encoder. An encoder is the software that takes a stream’s audio and video and sends the live broadcast to a platform. Without a direct, current statement from Pokimane or her team, claims that she uses OBS Studio or Streamlabs Desktop should be treated as speculation.
Why Streamlabs is associated with Pokimane
Historical reporting says Pokimane worked with Streamlabs on a $5 donation cap and used its service for alerts and tipping. It also describes a later dispute over the use of her images in Streamlabs marketing. Those details concern historical services and marketing; they do not confirm which application she currently uses as her encoder.
Alerts and tipping are separate from encoding. A creator can use a service for donation pages or on-screen alerts without using that service’s desktop app to produce and transmit the broadcast. Streamlabs’ Twitch setup guide describes connecting Streamlabs Desktop, configuring a tip page and alerts, and adjusting stream settings; it does not identify Pokimane as a current user.

What the available software options do
The following descriptions are general context, not evidence about Pokimane’s personal setup.
- OBS Studio: The OBS Project says its software is open source, distributed under GPLv2, and free to use. It describes OBS as “open-source software developed by volunteer contributors around the world in their free time.” See the OBS license information.
- Twitch Studio: Twitch describes it as a free streaming app designed to help new streamers go live on Twitch. Twitch’s Creator Camp also lists Streamlabs OBS as an option with guided setup and integrated alerts. These descriptions explain general product features; they do not indicate what Pokimane uses. See Twitch Creator Camp’s streaming software guide.
- Streamlabs Desktop: Streamlabs provides streaming software and related tools such as alerts and tipping. Its general availability, or Pokimane’s reported historical use of associated services, is not proof that it is her current encoder.
How to choose software for your own stream
Pick based on your workflow rather than trying to infer a celebrity’s setup. If you want free, open-source software, OBS Studio fits that description. If you are new to streaming on Twitch and prefer guided setup, Twitch’s own guide describes Twitch Studio that way. If integrated alerts are important, Twitch’s guide lists Streamlabs OBS as offering them. These are feature distinctions, not a performance ranking.

If your goal is a continuous YouTube stream using uploaded videos rather than a live camera broadcast, StreamNeo is a separate cloud option; it does not establish anything about Pokimane’s setup and streams to YouTube only. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo then loops the uploaded video from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not need to stay on. Every slot streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; it includes automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card.
