RIDGID’s Lifetime Service Agreement (LSA) can cover free service, parts and qualifying replacement batteries for an eligible registered power tool, but it is not automatic or universal. The agreement is for the original purchaser, requires registration and approval, and covers qualifying problems tied to normal use and proper maintenance—not misuse or ordinary consumable accessories. RIDGID’s official U.S. pages differ on which purchase channels qualify, so verify your exact tool and seller with RIDGID before relying on coverage.
What the RIDGID LSA covers
For an eligible tool with an approved LSA, RIDGID describes coverage for free service and parts, including qualifying failures from normal use and normal wear under regular use. The detailed terms name brushes, chucks, motors, switches and gears for applicable tools. For pneumatic tools, they name replacement rings, driver blades and bumpers. RIDGID also includes replacement batteries among the potential benefits.

Coverage is not a promise to replace every worn or broken component. The failure must meet the agreement’s conditions, and RIDGID must approve the claim.
Who qualifies—and what you need to do
The agreement is for the original purchaser of an eligible product and is not transferable. RIDGID’s detailed terms require registration within 90 days of purchase, with the model and serial information and proof of purchase. Registration must be processed and approved; sending in a form alone does not establish active coverage. Keep the approval confirmation and purchase records.

Purchase-channel eligibility needs particular care. RIDGID’s detailed U.S. terms say eligible tools must be purchased at The Home Depot, while the current Power Tools page says eligible tools, batteries and pneumatic tools may be purchased at The Home Depot or an authorized retailer. Because those official pages differ, ask RIDGID to confirm eligibility for your specific product and seller before purchasing or relying on the LSA. The available terms do not establish that a particular marketplace listing qualifies.
What the LSA does not cover
The detailed terms exclude damage or defects caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration, modification, unauthorized repair, external damage, or failure to follow the operator’s manual. The agreement is also limited to wear or failure arising from normal use and proper maintenance.

Consumable accessories are excluded. RIDGID lists saw blades, bits, grinding and cut-off wheels, sandpaper, safety glasses, fasteners and track-saw tracks. Reconditioned tools and extra free promotional serialized equipment are also not eligible.
How the LSA relates to RIDGID’s three-year warranty
RIDGID’s detailed U.S. terms say LSA service begins after the standard three-year limited warranty expires. The LSA is a separate service agreement; it does not change or limit that warranty. The two forms of coverage therefore have different timing: the limited warranty applies first, followed by LSA service for an approved eligible product.

How to request service
RIDGID’s official materials describe different service routes. The detailed terms direct owners to an authorized RIDGID service center and require the LSA identification number and valid personal identification. The current Power Tools page describes starting a claim through the RIDGID account, receiving a prepaid FedEx label and shipping the tool for factory service. Follow the instructions shown for your registered product or confirm the correct route with RIDGID before sending equipment.
If RIDGID replaces registered equipment
If serialized equipment with LSA status is replaced, RIDGID says the replacement serialized piece must be registered within 90 days to retain LSA status. Keep proof of the replacement; RIDGID may request it.

Before you count on coverage
- Check that the exact tool or battery is eligible, and confirm the purchase channel with RIDGID.
- Register within 90 days, submit proof of purchase and retain RIDGID’s approval confirmation.
- Keep the operator’s manual and maintain the tool properly; misuse, unauthorized repair and excluded accessories are outside the stated coverage.
- Use the service instructions for the registered product, or verify the route with RIDGID before shipping or visiting a service center.
