Completing “In the Eternal Fire’s Shadow” rewards you with Forgotten Wolven crafting diagrams—not a ready-made armor and weapon set. The diagrams cover boots, armor, gauntlets, a silver sword, and a steel sword; finishing the quest also opens a separate scavenger hunt for more Forgotten Wolf School Gear diagrams.
What does the quest reward?
The Velen side quest at Devil’s Pit unlocks the Forgotten Wolven diagrams. CD PROJEKT RED describes the quest’s rewards as inspired by Netflix’s The Witcher series in its Next-Gen Update announcement.

Guides list these five pieces as the immediate reward:
- Forgotten Wolven boots
- Forgotten Wolven armor
- Forgotten Wolven gauntlets
- Forgotten Wolven silver sword
- Forgotten Wolven steel sword
These are crafting diagrams, so you still need to craft the equipment. Completing the quest does not place a finished set in Geralt’s inventory.

What happens after the quest?
The quest also starts a separate Forgotten Wolf School Gear scavenger hunt. That follow-up sends you to Kaer Morhen to find additional diagrams; those later rewards are distinct from the five diagrams tied to the Devil’s Pit quest.
Where is the quest, and what level should you be?
“In the Eternal Fire’s Shadow” takes place at Devil’s Pit in Velen. Guides recommend roughly level 14 or 15, but that is advice for approaching the quest, not a stated hard level requirement.
