Offcanvas V06 is a ready-made notifications drawer, not Bootstrap’s built-in offcanvas component. Colorlib describes it as a dark, frontend-only panel made with HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript. The publisher says it can run on its own or be placed in Bootstrap 4, 5 or 6 projects, without requiring Bootstrap files, jQuery or plugins.
What Offcanvas V06 includes
Colorlib presents V06 for a project-management interface: a bell button opens a dark drawer with notifications organized by Today, Yesterday and Earlier this week. The described interactions include filters for unread notifications and mentions, opening an item to mark it read, and a “Mark all as read” action that clears unread dots and updates the header count and bell badge.

These are frontend UI interactions, not evidence of a server-backed notification service. The listing describes the implementation as HTML, CSS and a few lines of vanilla JavaScript, with no jQuery, Bootstrap files or plugins. Colorlib lists the download at 130 KB; that is the publisher’s stated size, not an independent measurement. See Colorlib’s Offcanvas V06 listing.
Does Offcanvas V06 require Bootstrap?
According to Colorlib, no. Its description says the template works as a standalone snippet and can also be used inside Bootstrap 4, 5 or 6 projects. That compatibility statement is the publisher’s claim; it does not mean the template is Bootstrap’s native offcanvas component.

Bootstrap’s own v5.3 documentation describes a separate component: “Offcanvas is a sidebar component that can be toggled via JavaScript to appear from the left, right, top, or bottom edge of the viewport.” Bootstrap documents controls such as data attributes, a backdrop by default, Escape-key closing, and body scrolling disabled while the panel and backdrop are visible unless data-bs-scroll is enabled. Its documentation recommends labeling the panel with aria-labelledby pointing to its title, and shows a labeled dismiss button. These details describe Bootstrap’s component, not verified behavior in V06. Read Bootstrap’s v5.3 offcanvas documentation.
How to decide whether it fits your project
- Choose it for the included notification pattern: the listing describes time-grouped items, unread and mentions filters, read-state interactions, and a badge that reflects unread activity.
- Consider the native Bootstrap component if you need framework behavior: Bootstrap documents placement, backdrop, scrolling and keyboard controls for its own offcanvas. Confirm that any template you choose implements the accessibility and interaction behavior your interface needs.
- Check accessibility in the actual code: verify a clear accessible name for the panel, keyboard opening and closing, sensible focus behavior, and an unread indicator that is not conveyed by color alone. The available product description does not establish that V06 meets these checks.
- Plan for real notification data separately: the described template is a frontend UI. A project needing persistent, user-specific notifications will need its own data and application logic.
- Review maintenance and provenance: weigh the standalone dependency footprint against the framework-native approach, and check whether the download’s source and update history suit your project.
License and listing details
Colorlib’s indexed listing identifies the author as Colorlib, gives a release date of September 25, 2026, and states a CC BY 3.0 license. The listing describes the download as free. The Creative Commons deed explains that CC BY 3.0 allows sharing and adaptation with attribution, subject to its license conditions. Review the CC BY 3.0 deed and the template’s license details before reuse. The template-specific metadata here comes from Colorlib’s indexed listing; the page itself was not independently accessible for verification.

What the listing does—and does not—establish
Colorlib’s description supports treating V06 as a notification-drawer UI with the interactions it lists, and as a standalone snippet the publisher says can also be used in Bootstrap projects. It does not establish that the code was independently tested, that it conforms to every Bootstrap offcanvas behavior, or that it passed an accessibility or cross-browser audit. If those requirements matter, inspect and test the downloaded code in your target environment before adopting it.
