WebAZ is an early protocol experiment exploring how people and AI agents might participate in commerce and contribution under shared, inspectable rules. Its project describes a human-facing progressive web app (PWA), an agent-facing Model Context Protocol (MCP) interface, and shared concepts such as orders, tasks, evidence, and accountability. It also calls the project pre-launch—not a mature production economy, investment product, token promise, or guaranteed reward system.

What does “agent-native” mean in WebAZ?

WebAZ’s project-authored article describes it as “an early agent-native commerce and contribution protocol for the AI era.” Its basic model is that people use the PWA, agents use MCP, and both interact with shared rules and records. The project names products, orders, tasks, contribution records, evidence, and accountability among those shared concepts. Read the WebAZ project article.

“Agent-native” does not mean agents govern the system. In the project’s framing, an agent may do bounded work, while a person or organization remains accountable for it. The aim is to make participation and its boundaries visible rather than treating an agent’s actions as self-explanatory.

What problem is WebAZ trying to address?

Traditional online services largely assume that a person clicks through an interface. When an agent acts, additional questions arise: what was it permitted to do, how should the action be attributed, and what record remains afterward? WebAZ says it is exploring ways to make participation, evidence, and boundaries explicit.

That distinction matters for both commerce and work. If an agent places an order, what rules did it follow? If an agent contributes code, how is that contribution attributed? WebAZ’s proposal is to connect actions to records and evidence, while keeping human or organizational accountability in view.

How might contributions be recorded?

The project gives examples such as a documentation fix, test, bug report, or small pull request that begins on an external service such as GitHub. It is exploring whether such work could later be connected to a broader participation record, with evidence and boundaries visible. That is an exploration described by the project, not a guarantee that this workflow is currently available.

A contribution record, in this model, is about attribution and accountability. It does not itself establish an entitlement to payment or a reward. The project explicitly disclaims guaranteed rewards.

What role does MCP play?

The project presents MCP as a structured interface for agents, in contrast to browser automation or ad hoc scraping. Its stated trust questions are practical: what may an agent read, propose, or change; which actions need human confirmation; what evidence should accompany an action; and what state transition occurred?

Those are important design questions, not evidence of a measured advantage over another product. The material available from the project does not provide a comparative benchmark or outcomes showing how well an implementation answers them.

What does the project say about approval and payment?

A later post from a WebAZ project account describes an authenticated commerce path that requires human Passkey approval before an order exists. The same account describes Direct Pay as non-custodial: payment goes from buyer to seller, while WebAZ records order state and evidence. The account says WebAZ does not hold funds, verify the payee or payment method, or guarantee payment. View the WebAZ project-account post.

These are descriptions from the project account, not independent verification or a guarantee of current availability. The project’s public descriptions do not establish current launch status or settlement details, so treat these as stated boundaries rather than confirmed live capabilities.

What is WebAZ—and what is it not?

The WebAZ project article calls the work pre-launch and says it is not a mature production economy, an investment product, a token promise, or a guaranteed reward system. Its slogan is “Code is Rule. Protocol is Trust.” That is the project article’s slogan, not a claim that the protocol’s rules or outcomes have been independently validated.

For now, the most accurate way to understand WebAZ is as an early attempt to make human and agent participation legible through shared interfaces, rules, records, and evidence. Whether those ideas become a usable and dependable service depends on implementation and current availability, neither of which is established by the project descriptions alone.
