Samsung Customization Service personalizes content and recommendations using information about you and your use of Samsung services. It is an account-linked feature, not a separate app you need to install. You can turn it off or limit categories of information, but switching it off does not erase data Samsung has already collected.
What Samsung Customization Service does
Samsung describes the service as a way to tailor content and recommendations to your use of its services. Examples in Samsung’s U.S. notice include voice-recognition hints informed by context, music recommendations based on listening history, and a reminder associated with a location. The examples illustrate possible personalization; they do not mean every user will see each feature.

What information may be used
Samsung’s U.S. privacy notice lists categories of information that may be used for Customization Service. It does not say every category is collected from every person or device. What applies can depend on your settings, consent, device support, location settings, and the applicable notice.

The detailed U.S. Customization Service Privacy Notice is effective April 20, 2023.
How to find the setting and turn it off
Samsung’s detailed U.S. notice lists these paths. Labels and availability can vary by model and software version, and Samsung cautions that settings may change on newer devices.

Samsung says disabling Customization Service suspends customized content and the collection and analysis performed under this service. You can continue using default service features, but the experience may be less personalized. Samsung also says personalization quality may decrease if you deny access to information or delete it.

To request deletion of particular stored data categories, use Samsung Account privacy or data-management settings. Samsung notes that deletion from its servers can take time. Its notice describes deleting the Samsung Account as the broader deletion option; consider the consequences of closing an account before choosing it.
Customization Service ads are a separate control
You can opt out of using Customization Service for customized ads. That choice does not guarantee an ad-free Samsung experience: Samsung says ads from other Samsung services may still appear. If your goal is to reduce advertising, check the controls for the other services too rather than treating this setting as a universal ad switch.

Which option makes sense for you?
| Choice | Personalization | Information use | Effect on data already collected |
|---|---|---|---|
| Keep the service on and adjust categories | Customized content can continue, subject to your choices. | You can manage available categories and services in settings. | Changing allowed categories does not itself request deletion of previously collected information. |
| Turn the service off | Customized content under this service is suspended; default features remain available. | Collection and analysis under Customization Service are suspended. | Previously collected information is not deleted; request deletion separately through Samsung Account privacy or data-management settings. |
If you value tailored recommendations, keeping the service on while limiting categories may be a middle ground. If you prefer not to have this service personalize content from the information it uses, switch it off. In either case, treat managing future collection and requesting deletion as separate actions.
