Peacock is NBCUniversal’s U.S. streaming service for on-demand TV and movies, Peacock Originals, selected live sports and events, and streaming channels. Its standard plans currently start at $7.99 per month, but the least expensive tier excludes movies, sports, and Originals. If you want a particular show or game, check its availability and required plan before subscribing.
What can you watch on Peacock?
Peacock brings together several kinds of programming rather than offering only a conventional on-demand library. Its catalog includes NBC and Bravo shows, movies, Peacock Originals, children’s programming, news and entertainment, and selected Telemundo-related and broader NBCUniversal content. What is available can change with licensing and other rights, so a category is not a promise that every show or episode is included.
- On-demand TV and movies: Browse available titles and watch them when you choose.
- Peacock Originals: Original programming is included with Premium and Premium Plus, not Select.
- Live sports and events: Peacock carries selected events. Coverage depends on the event, rights, schedule, market, and plan.
- Streaming channels: These are scheduled, linear-style streams rather than an on-demand title list. Peacock advertises more than 50 always-on channels; the count can change.
- News and children’s programming: These are among the service’s additional content categories.
Peacock advertises a library of more than 80,000 hours of entertainment. That is a first-party figure and may change; it is not a guarantee that every title is available to every plan. See Peacock’s TV page and sports page for current offerings.
Peacock plans and prices
The following are the U.S. prices displayed on Peacock’s plan page on August 16, 2026. Promotions, bundles, and offers through another provider or billing platform may differ.

Peacock presents annual plans as 12 months for the price of 10. Compared with 12 monthly payments at these displayed standard prices, annual billing saves $15.89 on Select, $21.89 on Premium, or $33.89 on Premium Plus. That saving assumes you keep the subscription for the full year; monthly billing may suit you better if you only want a seasonal sport, one series, or a short-term test.
Which plan should you choose?
- Choose Select if you mainly want eligible NBC or Bravo television and do not need movies, sports, or Originals.
- Choose Premium if you want Peacock’s main mix of TV, movies, sports, and Originals and accept ads.
- Choose Premium Plus if reduced ads on eligible programming and selected mobile downloads are worth the extra cost to you.
Peacock’s current plan page lists the plan features and exceptions. Premium Plus is not completely ad-free: ads may still appear in live sports and events, channels, and some shows or movies. Downloads are also limited to selected titles and supported mobile use.
Is Peacock free?
Peacock is primarily a paid subscription service today. Its regular U.S. plan selector lists paid Select, Premium, and Premium Plus plans; do not assume you can open a new account for unlimited free access. Limited free content, legacy accounts, promotional access, or partner offers may be available in particular circumstances, but they are not the same as a standard full Peacock subscription. Free programming in an NBC app is not automatically free Peacock access.

Does Peacock have live TV and sports?
Peacock has live sports and events, plus scheduled streaming channels and some live programming. It is not a full cable replacement: a Peacock subscription does not provide every cable network, every NBCUniversal channel feed, or every broadcast of a sport. Sports rights and plan eligibility can change by event and season, and local or other distribution restrictions may apply.

Before subscribing for a game or event, check its listing on Peacock and confirm the required plan. Do not infer that a specific event is included just because Peacock carries other events in the same sport. Its sports page lists current promotions and offerings, but availability remains event-specific.
If you want a broader package of live channels and local stations, compare a live-TV service or a TV-provider package instead. Peacock can complement one, but it serves a different purpose.

Peacock is not the same as NBC, Comcast, or Xfinity
- NBC is a broadcast network and brand; Peacock is a separate NBCUniversal streaming subscription. Some NBCUniversal network apps require a participating TV-provider login. A Peacock subscription does not replace that credential.
- Comcast is the corporate parent associated with NBCUniversal. Xfinity is Comcast’s consumer connectivity and pay-TV brand. Peacock is a separate service, although some customers may qualify for a provider offer. Do not assume every Xfinity customer gets Peacock automatically; check your account or current offer.
If an NBCUniversal app asks for a TV provider after you subscribed to Peacock, the two services use different kinds of access. Peacock explains this distinction in its help article about the service.
Devices and account use
Peacock supports a range of web browsers, phones and tablets, smart TVs, streaming devices, and game consoles, but compatibility depends on the model and software version. Current examples on its support page include Chrome 125 or later, Firefox 127 or later, and Microsoft Edge 125 or later on Windows or Mac; Safari 17.3 or later on Mac; Android 7.0 or later; iOS 16 or later; and Fire TV or Fire Tablet devices with Fire OS 6 or later. Other listed platforms include Android TV, Apple TV HD (fourth generation or later, with tvOS 18 or later), Chromecast (second generation or later, including Chromecast with Google TV), Google TV, and Hisense VIDAA televisions with VIDAA 5.0 or later.
Peacock says the Fire Max 11 Tablet is not currently supported. A smart-TV label by itself does not guarantee compatibility, and device support does not guarantee every playback feature. Check your exact model and software against Peacock’s current supported-devices list before subscribing.

Peacock says Premium users can create up to six profiles and stream on up to three devices at once. Profiles are separate from simultaneous streams: six profiles do not mean six people can watch at the same time. - Create a Peacock account or sign in to an existing one.
- Select a plan and enter payment details, or apply an offer for which you are eligible.
- Sign in on your viewing device and start streaming.
Trials, introductory prices, bundles, and partner offers can vary by date, account, and billing platform. Confirm the price and renewal terms shown at checkout rather than assuming a particular promotion is available.
Is Peacock worth it?
Peacock is most compelling when its specific programming fits your routine—not simply because it has a large catalog. It may suit you if you regularly watch NBC or Bravo shows, want Peacock Originals, follow events that Peacock currently carries, or want a focused mix of TV, movies, and selected sports. Premium is the broadest ad-supported option; Select is a narrower TV tier; Premium Plus is for viewers who value reduced ads on eligible content or supported downloads.

It is a weaker fit if you need a broad live-channel bundle, want only a title that is not currently available, expect Premium Plus to remove every ad, or rely on an older device that Peacock does not support. Identify the show or event you want, verify its availability and plan requirement, and check your device before paying. If you are unsure whether you will use Peacock all year, monthly billing avoids committing to an annual subscription.

Can I watch Peacock without cable?
Yes. You can subscribe directly and watch on a supported device; a cable or satellite subscription is not required to sign up for Peacock.
Can I cancel Peacock anytime?
The cancellation process and timing depend on where you subscribed. Check the account or billing platform that manages your subscription for its current cancellation terms.
