Invisible lip liner is a clear lip pencil drawn around the lips before lipstick or gloss. It is intended to form a colorless boundary that helps keep lip color from feathering, bleeding, or smudging—without requiring a liner shade to match your lipstick. What invisible lip liner does

How to apply it
Placement depends on the product’s directions. Follow the instructions for the pencil you have rather than assuming every clear liner is used in exactly the same way.
Outline the lip contour
KIKO MILANO’s Philippines product page directs users to outline the lip contour with the pencil, then apply lipstick or gloss. In its wording: “Outline the lip contour with the pencil. Then apply your KIKO lipstick or gloss.” KIKO MILANO’s product page gives this sequence for its liner.

Draw just outside the contour

Try a primer-style approach
Makeup.com suggests lining and filling the lips with clear liner as a primer, or tracing just outside the natural lip line as a barrier. Treat this as an editorial technique rather than a universal manufacturer instruction: the article does not report controlled testing or guarantee a particular wear time.
